Briggsybriggs1
Hi as above iv just fit some decats and a cone filter to run along with my duplex exhaust system and my mpg has dropped to 20 from 26-28 , but the sound is amazballs now , is it normal to lose mpg after fitting breathing mods ? Lexx
Freer flowing = more air = more fuel
Grundy
Sure you weren't just driving harder to hear the noise? I can still hit over 28+ driving sensible...
glrnet
It'll be a bit of both I suspect.
a2orry
Tuning a bit out after fitting decat pipes running rich time for uprev.
Bems
I'm the same. Think you'll need a up rev to sort out the fuelling etc to improve it
Almeida1234
Yeah as above. I think remap needed

The Chubby Ninja
I don't even want to know what mine is doing, car says about 40 but in reality it's probably under
KyleR
Full exhaust and pop charger here and still getting 25+ if I want. You have a heavier foot due to the noise, but perform an ecu reset to clear out the old data
Briggsybriggs1
Thanks for the replays every one think I need a up rev now. It dropped to 22mpg after fitting the filter now after the decats it's 20mpg so think a up rev is needed now then. But am going to refit my OEM air box cos until it's done :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited March 22, 2014 by Briggsybriggs1

RobPhoboS
Doesn't sounds quite right to me if you still drive the same as before. I get around 27mpg (was 28 before nismo spoiler). Worth getting a can of Wynns injector cleaner, spray some through, or get a bottle of stuff to add to the tank that cleans them as well. That usually helps me when they've not been done for a while. Also check tyre pressures are correct. + remap if not done.
Briggsybriggs1
Video sound clip pls what's the best way to put a clip on here. Iv filmed one but can't put one on here ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sam Mcgoo
but the sound is amazballs now And that is why. You WILL be driving harder and holding the revs longer because you enjoy the noise. Worth getting a re-map though to get things running sweet.

lewistaylo111
im not great with aftermarket maps and things like that but best way to explain is that your car is getting rid of exhaust gases quicker and also with the breathing mod taking in air quicker therefore putting the map out making the air/fuel ratio go out as well causing your mpg to go down , like its been said before a simple map will soon re-cal your air-fuel ratio

Tricky-Ricky
Interesting comments considering that everyone thinks that the Z ECU will dial out/not realise any performance improvements added, and if you say that adding a free flow filter and exhaust is allowing more air, and so using more fuel, then where is the resulting performance improvement??
