Keyser
............... describe "odd" In a word "glrnet" Edit: if it was weird I 'd have gone with SMD Edited March 20, 2014 by Keyser
:RedZed:
Yes, describe "odd" I haven't quite managed to work out the exact circumstances yet but when the clutch is warm (and apparently more so if pressing the pedal when moving at speed) it feels like there is a 'lump' towards the bottom of the press. This is about the best I can describe it.
Ebized
The colour of the fluid suggests it is due for replacement (compare to that in your brake reservior), but whether that is the cause of the 'lump'.....but I would certainly do a top up for starters
Ewen@Clark Motorsport
As Colin says that looks like its overdue a change of fluid
:RedZed:
As Colin says that looks like its overdue a change of fluid It's on the cards, just didn't want to do it before getting my hands on a braided hose
Jp606
At least syringe out what's in the reservoir and refill it to the correct level with a good fluid (such as Motul RBF600).
GMballistic
From your location you're really close to Horsham Developments. http://h-dev.co.uk/index2.php?page=home I took my Zed there in February for a lot of work and they did a great job. Clutch fluid change was just one of the jobs they did and it's definitely worth doing. Try giving Jez a PM on here or a ring as I'm sure they'll be able to sort the problem out for you. I don't know what's in there, is it safe to mix fluids? I'm two minutes in the car from TGM so I always go there. I asked them to have a look when they fitted my exhaust this week but they couldn't find anything wrong with it. It's irregular so I knew that would happen.
Ekona
Change it all as a first point, can't hurt and is the quick and easy option.
Tricky-Ricky
Sounds like the "lump" you describe could be simply the effect of the assist spring.

Is it part of the pedal or is it the other side of the bulkhead?
Tricky-Ricky
Here is a pic, its a 370Z but its essentially the same, depending on the clutch adjustment it can feel a little weird, I removed mine, and really couldn't feel much differers in effort,
