Digsy
After seeing Rob's at the weekend I did this search just out of interest... http://dvla-som.co.uk/home/en/Search/p/ ... &x=76&y=16 Tickles me that the 51 plate is the dearest!
nixy
nice! I'd never pay for a plate that could only be used on a specific car though.
Stew
I had S4XOH on my saxo. I sold it afterwards, made a few quid too.....

Chris`I
I'm tempted to get MY53 ZED, but as Nixy said, dont like it if its car specific. Wont make any extra money on the plate when you come to sell really. But hey, if I have the money knocking around one day, I might just get it. MarkW
Agree with Nixy. though I had M2 RXB on my Mazda RX8 which only cost me £250 from DVLA and I sold it for £350 on fleabay.
Ebized
Digsy said it "Tickles me that the 51 plate is the dearest!" Is that because DVLA sized up the potential? and yes, I splashed out on a ZED plate last year - with the imports seeming to outnumber new cars sold here I thought 'UK' seemed the ticket rather than opting for the 'MY' prefix On reflection I'm not sure if that was the best choice and the dealer did warn me that I would not get my money back but that it might help a sale when the time comes . Digsy
I think the car specific plates are OK if yoy can pick them up cheap like Mark did and then sell them on. All the ZED ones seem to be a minimum of £799 and I wouldn't spend that much on one. I have no idea how they come to their prices but check this out.... http://dvla-som.co.uk/home/en/Search/p/ ... &x=78&y=12 £1999
Trev-the-Rev
Not worth the money imo. The only thing I will say is that once bought, they do seem to appreciate in value. I paid £295 from the DVLA for mine about 2 years ago, and the same style is going for around £495 now.
Chris`I
Awesome BE57 ZED (remember to select Nissan > 350z) Now that may have to be done if I had a grand to spend! Now do I give up the 40" TV I was planning for my new house?
Sarnie
I wouldn't waste my money on a car specific plate unless: a) The plate was awesome e.g L4M B0 that you may be able to make on. I had a zillion pound in the bank and was bored..........
nixy
I had a zillion pound in the bank and was bored.......... er, isn't that the case anyway?

polarbear
I got KT55 ZZZ for £299 and as my initials are KT, well....... If I had the money (or weird initials) I'd go for an Irish plate ending in 3502 for obvious reasons.
