rabbitstew
Anyone recommend some good insurance companies? I'm with Greenlight at the moment who are being stupid about the fact it's a powerful rear drive car. The chap I spoke to says they are refusing to insure anyone with a BMW! Couldn't quite believe what I was hearing! Probably why they are so cheap. Definitely shop about. When I got my zed I couldnt believe how ridiculous insurance companies were being. Even the "specialist" insurance companies on here were quoting me well over a grand for my 350z if they would insure me at all. Thats as someone with 18 years NCB and years of driving high performance cars & motorbikes. The only feedback I got was that it was because its RWD and 300+bhp. Which didnt make sense when I was getting quotes of about £500 elsewhere for a boxster or an m3.
samsniss350z
I was told that the 370 GT had a proper LSD not the viscous one as fitted to most 350's and 370's. I've never had a problem either with losing the back end once it starts to go, its nowhere near as savage as an MR2 which once it does start to go goes with avengence. Personally I've never been that keen on Beemers as where they were once considered slightly exotic as they were quite rare, the whole world and his dog has one and i prefer the rarity value of the 350/370. I much prefer the lines of the 350 as the 370 has avery straight ine from the roof down to the bottom of the boot. Still each to his own

ECG1000
Anyone got anything to say about this 370? http://www.pistonhea...experiment=true Or this one: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/nissan/370z/nissan-370-z-3-7-v6-gt-3dr/2016796?isexperiment=true Edited March 12, 2014 by ECG1000
flyboy
Anyone got anything to say about this 370? http://www.pistonhea...experiment=true Or this one: http://www.pistonhea...experiment=true First one overpriced despite the low mileage but the best colour. Second one dont bother - has a big dent in the drivers door ( went to see the "mint" car myself just a wasted 120 mile round trip.)
flyboy
If your after a red one there's one for the right price in South Wales with a few more miles which looks (maybe wish I had waited)
sipar69
For your money, you might want look at the Black Editions (aka 40th Anniversary). Mechanically they're the same as the GT pack cars but have very nice dark alloys and red interior. I think the Quartz colour one is particularly nice (my previous car). There is currently a fairly low mileage example on Autotrader for 17k. Oh and if hasn't been said already, budget £900 - £1300 for a decent exhaust. The standard exhaust sounds pathetic. ECG1000
Wow, the ones on Autotrader are far better priced! That 17k black edition is sold unfortunately :-(
Marcus01
Anyone got anything to say about this 370? http://www.pistonhea...experiment=true Or this one: http://www.pistonhea...experiment=true I have looked at this car and walked away, has had front bumper area repair. Bonnet wouldn't lift, 2 shot tyres on the rear which go cars kindly offered to replace with budget tyres. The centre console is heavily ring scratched where the previous lady owner marked it with a ring every time she put the seatbelt on. Car hasn't had the steering lock recall I looked at 5 cars before buying and this was the easiest one to walk away from.
Marcus01
Previous post was referring to the white car at go cars. Just looked at the second car you referred to and guess what, checked out this company when looking for a 350. I would not deal with these jokers ever, complete waste of time traveling to see the 3 350's that were "mint" only to find complete rubbish and the salesman was a complete dick. Wasn't allowed to test drive any car until deposit was paid. Maybe if I was a young scally I could understand there stance but I was 52 for gods sake. ECG1000
Sounds like you had a pretty tough search for your car! What's the deal with the steering lock recall? Is it mandatory for all 370's? Would you have to pay if it was out of warranty?
Will370z
It's a standard recall so fixed for free. You should have it done as the car will more than likely fail.

I admit I am very particular customer, just can't believe you managed to pick out probably the 2 most disappointing buying experiences I have ever had. I now have 2010 370 and I am well pleased with it.
ioneabee
the red one is also not a GT - its a standard 370z - there is no screen cover on the GT's also (if budget allows) look for post 2010 models, as they have the upgraded bose and sat nav
R35LEE
370z is a great car and no big scares with failures yet apart from the odd gearbox issue. M3's (especially early ones) have a few known issues. We had one just out of warranty and the ecu failed and BMW refused to assist. A 59 Reg onwards M3 is a great car with uprated suspension and exhaust. The M3 is better but for the money a 370z is the winner in my eyes

I'm hoping this isn't common on 370's for sale as it's hard to tell from the photos the exact condition of them!

I read somewhere about people getting a crunch going into 6th? I think the brutishness of the Zed attracts me the most. Obviously the M3 have a bigger and more powerful engine, but it seem more clinical and precise than the Zed. I like the way the Zed is a bit of an uncouth muscle car in comparison. Jay
The 370z is a refined car not a brute! That was the one thing I disliked about my 370z it wasn't as hardcore as the 350.

Rear drive and 328bhp refined? I was under the impression they are happy cruising but can be chucked about a bit when you're in the mood. Maybe I'm in for a disappointment. djti636
i am thinking of a change and to go for the E92 M3 Myself, do you a deal on my twin turbo 350z if you fancy it makes the 370 look slow and still pulls on the e92 as I found last week. Must say for Road presence the 370 is very eye catching
