grahamc
With having upgraded the jspec brakes to Akebono brakes all-round, jspec suspension to BC coilovers and the 17" standard wheels soon to be replaced by a set of 18/19s, I know need to sort out my last issue with the 350z....... the sound. The exhaust is stock and the car sounds very boring, very plain.... I dont want to worry about MOTs, so complete decats are out. I dont want to worry about track day noise limits, so nothing too noisy. What can I do to get a bit of life/sound to the 350z?
GMballistic
My vote: Berks HFC's and an Invidia Gemini true dual system. Tarmac Sportz is where I got mine and as luck would have it they actually have an offer on the Invidia system at the mo; http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/60923-invidia-350z-and-370z-gemini-exhaust-special-offer/
MITZ@CougarStore
A cat back or Y pipe back system will do the trick, what sort of budget do you have, as we have options from £374... http://cougarstore.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_10

So will the midpipe and the rear box be enough? Will it also keep the noise down within trackday limits? Im assuming the carbon tips are extra... The Resonated is the popular choice and sounds a lot better than the Nissan system, so you'll notice a difference... The carbon were an additional cost but they've since dropped them from the options... Edited March 9, 2014 by CS
RS8055
It really is worth spending the extra money for the Invidia Gemini system as it's a true dual, and as GMballistic says, the Berk HFCs would go well with that too! I've got the Invidia, but saving up for the HFCs.

I've got the Invidia, but saving up for the HFCs. The HFC's will make a great improvement on the sound of your Invidia system. I had them fitted both together at once so obviously didn't notice the difference apart from how much better it was than standard. Take a look at Chromatics thread here; http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/81936-berk-hfcs-arrived/He had the Invidia system and just recently got the Berks HFC's fitted. A few videos in there so may help spur you along with the saving up.
grahamc
Thanks, but for double the price, I don't see the benefit. I just want a little bit of life to the sound of the car. I would rather spend the money on a track day

Exactly why I dont want to spend too much on the 350z.... would rather spend the money on a full TI exhaust for the GTR, to save the weight. And if all goes to plan, I will have 2 project cars on their way over from overseas in the next few weeks

I would rather spend the money on a track day if its just a bit more noise you're looking for, cobra resonated will fit the job perfectly - I've recently swapped from standard to cobra resonated and it sounds just lovely, definitely a good place to start! if you do decide you need more/different noise later on down the road, you can always flog the cobra and upgrade. grahamc
Bringing this back to life.... ypipe has fixed the blowing, but the Cobra exhaust is just too loud... what are my options? I would like something inbetween standard and the cobra. Thoughts?

KyleR
If i'd have seen this earlier I'd have pushed you towards the Invidia or Ark. It's cat back so when your flexis go on the OEM (as they just have) you won't have to fork out for a Y-pipe at £250+ and it's also not too loud

KyleR
I know mate, its just as I was reading the thread I was thinking I would advise you to get a cat back because of the flexis, but then a post later I noticed you'd already bought the Cobra. Oh well, hopefully you can get the flexis sorted without having to fork out for a new y-pipe.
