350z_Dan88
So I have had a new exhaust fitted cat back got rid of the big old restrictive back box and also a cosworth panel air filter, now I've read posts on here saying you get no gain at all unless you have a re map...but surely better airflow and a less restrictive exhaust remap or no remap is going to make a difference and benefit your engine
Ekona
Nope, not a sausage. ECU will throttle back performance to account for it. Uprev time for you!
350z_Dan88
Lol stupid ecu! And up rev is the name for the remap isn't it? What do you get off a remap hmm?

KyleR
Lol stupid ecu! And up rev is the name for the remap isn't it? What do you get off a remap hmm? Not really, if you did all the breathing mods and the ECU did nothing, it would run very lean and could cause damage to the engine. Not really, if you did all the creating mods and the ECU did nothing, it would run very lean and could cause damage to the engine. wouldn't it do the opposite and run rich in order to protect the engine? surely if you had more air going in it would compensate with more fuel? but then again if the ECU did nothing then why would it run lean or rich? That was supposed to read breathing mods, oops Anyway, the ECU can only correct so much, so ultimately after you fit a FULL exhaust with decats etc, new plenum/spacer, high flow filter etc, there will be more air than the ECU can tune out.
