Hughesie90
Hi Guys just went for a short drive, after a mile from pulling off, Engine management light came on, followed by the Traction light and the SLIP/SKID light, pulled over and tried restarting, and it sluggishly started and popped a few times, had to drive home with it like this and did the same in my drive? JDM 65K 03 any ideas? Edited March 7, 2014 by Ebized
Hughesie90
be worth noting i had full alignment done yesterday buy can't see how that would affect it? used STS and they played around with it for 2 hours as it was reading -300 on the back toe's only for them to have incorrectly having the laser equiptment fitted, could they have damaged anything in the tracking/camber etc? GMballistic
Not sure I can help you but have you tried the ECU reset to see if that helps clear the EML and restore normal operations? Here's how; http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/53148-how-to-ecu-accelerator-pedal-throttle-valve-resets/ That garage doesn't sound great tbh if they cannot even set up their own equipment correctly. Are there any better garages nearby you could use? like are you near any of the more recognized Zed specialists from on here? eg: Horsham Developments, CS, Abbey Motorsports, TDI etc. Free bump anyway and hopefully some more replies will follow to help you out. Hughesie90
I'll give that a go in the morning, i just started it up now and only the Engine management light was on, the rest had sorted themselves out.. or seemingly for now, based in Norwich so highly unlikely! GMballistic
The ECU reset (AKA the pedal dance) can take a few attempts to get right. I've done it before and it's not always easy to get right as timing is important but it does work and will turn off the EML. Strangely I've had the best results just counting the seconds in my head rather than using a seconds hand on a clock face. I'm not sure I know any Zed specialists in your area but there might be some?! If you are still having problems after tomorrow then maybe try a new thread asking if anyone knows any specialists near you or if any kind members nearby with mechanical knowledge can take a look for you. Good luck.
HmmBen
I always see these threads and reminds me when I had the same. Check the error codes. Mine said Cam position sensor so bought a new one and fixed it.
StevoD
Sounds the same as when I had a cam shaft sensor fail
Hughesie90
Yeah took it in today, cam shaft sensor code, don't know weather it's bank 1 or 2 though they didn't say so may have to go back again

Bound to be a better price than Nissan would try to charge you.
StevoD
Yea Zmanalex sorted mine out for me if bank 1 it rather easy i think bank 2 to really get to it you have to remove the Throttle body but its no real hardship
Hughesie90
Btw I meant crankshaft not cam shaft, assume these both have the same symptoms though!
