Darren350
Hey guys, Here is my first attempt at wrapping something in 3M carbon vinyl. I did the ash tray as I thought if I frigged it up too bad it wouldn't cost me a great deal of wrap, lol What do you think?! Be kind! Just got the rest of the centre console and the 2 door window switches to do now. Grrr... Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Darren350
It's horrific to be fair, but thanks haha It's hard to do the corners I find. It doesnt look too bad from above when it's flush but open it up and it looks a bit naff. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
ZEUS
Looks good mate, just use plenty of heat for the corners and curves
AliveBoy
Use heat to stretch it round the bends, the underside will always look rubbish. It takes a while to be good at it Edited March 6, 2014 by AliveBoy
Darren350
To be fair I used scissors and the wifes hair dryer to achieve these results so a heat gun and stanley might give me something to be more proud of haha Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
AliveBoy
I find scalpels or those snap off knives are best, as the wrap takes the bite off a blade quite quickly and you need it to be razor sharp.

-Bradders-
The wrapping skills are good, the quality of the actual wrap you used looks a bit bad tbh! Edited March 6, 2014 by -Bradders-

Darren350
There it is on the car. It actually looks better quality in real life but to be fair I did buy dirt cheap stuff. £15 for 2m x 1m. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
Darren350
Other side: In my 3 attempts I have gotten better which I guess is a good thing haha The main thing to watch out for is little bits of grain or dirt on the part you're wrapping as the first pillar section has a few bubbles where dirt is clearly under neath. Scratching all dirt away on the second pillar means no air bubbles at all. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
nath8642
Respect to you wrapping is a hard skill to acquire I've tried doing my center column and the curves and holes are a nightmare takes so long and a lot of patience think I just gave up and going to pay for it done however the pillars look good May give them a go myself
telf623
I started today as well learning on the job. Already melted my hand to the wrap
-Bradders-
I just realized i bought this car and to be 100% honest that Darren guys wrapping skills where about as accurate as his thoughts on the clutch i've since removed all his CB wrapped stuff as it was hideous and bubbled up like mad! Matt_182
Where does everyone buy the wrap from? So many options on eBay and unsure what's good or not? I've got to redo my window switches as the previous owners job is getting tatty.
BulletMagnet
My opinion is to look on eBay for Hexis CF vinyl. Alternatively PM zippypooz and ask his advice, he is a wrapper by trade
