Davie199
Hey folks got my berk HFCs in today so thought I'd get them on and see what they sound like, everything going well o/s on lambda in and tight and now for the n/s. Gets the lambda in by hand all the bolts started then goes to nip up the lambda and won't go any further, then try's to take it back out but it was too late. Got eml on but seems sealed, what codes will I get if it's the cats that's throwing the eml on? And has anyone any suggestions for sorting the sensor without buying another cat and sensor? Stutopia
There's a selection of codes in this thread that my O2 sensors have thrown. If your up in Aberdeen you must be spoilt for choice, seems like everyone up there has a zed But seriously I bet the great team at Clark Motorsport can help you. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/77029-help-recurrence-of-o2-sensor-eml-with-new-codes/ Edited March 5, 2014 by SuperStu
GMballistic
My Berks HFC's did throw up an EML after fitting them and the only real way to sort this was with an UpRev. I did the pedal dance (ECU reset) to clear the EML but it just kept coming back until after my UpRev. ECU reset info here; http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/53148-how-to-ecu-accelerator-pedal-throttle-valve-resets/ Fault codes here if you need them; http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/81962-350z-fault-codes-in-pdf/ If you can get the 02 sensor out again then I'd try running a "tap" through it to try and clean up the threads & then refit. If it's sealed though I doubt it will make any difference. As SuperStu mentioned though you could try Clark Motorsport for more help if your near them.
Davie199
Perfect I'll try to reset my ecu tomorrow and see how it goes. If it keeps coming back I think I'll have to go In past clark Motorsport and see what they say. Thanks for the advice boys
GMballistic
No probs and I wouldn't worry too much about it. The 02 sensors can be a bit temperamental.
Clarkie
Davie, if you need an OBDII reader to read the codes then I have one you can come use. After fitting my HFCs I threw up an EML (can't remember the exact one) but after a quick reset it was fine. It sometimes came up when the weather was cold also. Fire me off a PM if I can be of any help regarding getting codes read. Oh I'm in Aberdeen by the way Edited March 5, 2014 by Clarkie
Hooch
If you needs cheap code reader that clears codes get one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Maxiscan-MS309-Diagnostic-Scanner-Reader/dp/B005N5HN7A/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1394066026&sr=8-2&keywords=obd2+maxiscan I have tested and this works on the UK 350z pre-facelift, cannot confirm any other but I know it wont work on imports.
