Arran
Hey all Does anyone know if a lead to go from the obd2 port to an ipad air so I can use dash command? Searching everywhere only brings up blue tooth or wifi stuff which I dont need. Cheers
KyleR
Does dash command not work with wifi? If it does just get a wifi one and leave it plugged in, no messing about plugging things in and out all the time.
Arran
Does it mean that I can only use it on the drive so I get wifi lol
KyleR
No, the unit provides the wifi signal so you just have to connect to the obd network in settings. I use the iobd2 unit with the accompanying app for plotting where I've been and average speeds etc, all connected via wifi. Arran
Ah so one of those eBay cables with the wifi box will work. Hopefully dash command or similar works with wifi
KyleR
Usually it's just a plug without any cable but yes, they'll work fine, providing the app works with wifi. I bought the iobd2 stuff because the plugin d app are made to work with each other. Not used dash command so not sure if it has any functions that iobd2 doesn't, but give it a google. Ekona
Don't leave the cable/box plugged in, the socket is permanent live so you'll drain the battery
Arran
Excellent as I was going to leave it in
KyleR
Don't leave the cable/box plugged in, the socket is permanent live so you'll drain the battery Really? Then why does the throttle controller that's plugged into it turn off with the ignition? My iobd has a led on it, I'll check if it's on when I get home to the car. Ekona
Might just be the wifi bit, but my one definitely stays on with ignition off. My throttle controller did used to power off though, you're quite right.
