Bobbyheinz
Hi guys, my girlfriends sister is looking for a used estate car for a maximum of 6k. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas what would be a good bet? My knowledge of "sensible cars" is pretty awful so I'm at a loss!

Richf
W210's aren't the rot for a pastime , bought mine new in 2001 , it was rotten as a pear by 2009 and had already had new wings and lots of repairs under warranty by then
GMballistic
What about a Honda Accord 2.0i VTEC Estate. Like this one; http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201311089777578/sort/default/usedcars/postcode/cf158rl/body-type/estate/price-to/6000/onesearchad/used/price-from/5500/seller-type/trade_adverts/fuel-type/petrol/page/1/radius/100/make/honda?logcode=p Very reliable cars and great boot capacity. Doesn't look half bad either for an estate car.
ChrisS
My daily is a Subaru Legacy Estate, AWD for winter and towing. I love it, the down side of being AWD is 35 mpg. But you can have a party in the back with the seats down.
rtbiscuit
Jag x type estates are popular, and the petrol versions are 4wd If you go Audi a4, don't get an auto, and go for the 1.9 diesel. Alfa 159 sportwagons are good but not as practical as others.

After 2 years I sold it for only £400 less than I paid for it.
