blazeink
Hi there. New to the forum. I have an 08 350z with Bose. I would like mp3 playback through the cd. There are head units from the USA that are MP3 players also. Has anyone replaced their standard unit for one of these units? Will it be a simple direct replacement? blazeink
Sorry, didn't make this clear. The unit from the USA is the Bose unit for a 350z. The difference, I believe, is that it is a post 2006 unit and has no cassette and the 6 CD unit has MP3 compatibility. My 2008 model does not play mp3's I am happy to put music in mp3 format onto 6 CD's and am not bothered about plugging in other devices Therefore I still get my voice recognition, steering wheel controls etc. I am also assuming that the connectors at the rear are the same and it would be a strait forward removal / install. richmillions
Why didn't they make that stereo available here I wonder? I think the radio is coded to the car, either that or you'll need to enter a code when connecting. I've just had to do this second option on mine after disconnecting the battery for 5mins.
