ICE system advice

I am planning on putting together a new ICE system to replace my Bose amp, speakers, Appradio 2 and tablet install.

I have already purchased a Pioneer AVIC - 8500bt, I have a different tablet already built up in a custom made flocked cubby. I just need to decide on the speakers, sub and amp, I was thinking of the following:

Hertz ESK 165 2 way 16.5cm components for the front. £139.00

Hertz ECX 165.5 16.5cm coaxial 210 watt 2 way door speakers for the rear. £89.00

Alpine MRX -v70 5 channel amp. £250.00

Can anyone see a problem with what I have chosen or recommend anything better for the price?

I've only ever had one sub (apart from stock bose) and that was a 3000watt 12" Pioneer, and the sound was amazing (dependent on what amp you get) I'd highly recommend Pioneer, I know the stock is 10" and I can't see and issue with a straight swap. Someone on here did a DIY for installing a 12".

Hertz are an excellent choice, I've dealt alot with them in the past and you can't fault the quality. As for your amp.....if I could make a suggestion, I have only ever had one Alpine amp and I popped it in less than 6 months, very weak to be fair.

Have you thought about maybe binning the coaxials? There is no need for them if you have components, seriously. By doing that you can put that money towards a better amp (Rainbow iPaul 4.300 - best amp I've ever had for the money) and then get a reasonable sub bridged over 2 of the channels.

I won SQ competitions with just components and a sub using this amp coupled with a Pioneer headunit. Coaxials will add depth but no extra quality.

Apologies for the mad way that this is put together, my battery is about to die!

Which tablet is in the pic and which one are you changing to?

I have always sworn by JL Audio, you'd need a free-air sub for the stock location as it is not air tight. Most people tend to move a sub to the boot/under the strut brace.

Thanks to Phil (OV53), my plans have changed/gotten more expensive. ;) I now have the following on the way:

Pioneer AVH-8500BT head unit.

Morel Tempo 6 - 2 way component speakers for the front.

Hertz ES250.3 - 10" subwoofer.

I still haven't decided on the Amp yet although Phil has suggested the Rainbow iPaul 4.300 (4 channel), but it looks like it may be to big for the behind the seat glove box, unless it will fit under the seat. Is it possible to run the rear speakers from the head unit for infill?

Another option would be to get a set of Hertz Energy ECX165 6.5 coaxial speakers for the rear and an Alpine PDX-V9 5 channel Amp. The Amp will fit in the glove box and will give a cleaner install.

Any opinions are welcome.
