Right ... teams next please Whacky :teeth:

I will when they are officially confirmed, few seats yet to be filled.

There is a provisional list, but not worth putting up as it will change. :#1:

I understand that Dtit is provisionally signed to one of the minor teams ... can you shed any light on this rumour ?

Can tell you this if it helps Attak.

The 2014 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship is shaping up to be one of the most competitive seasons in the series history, and at the forefront sit seven champions.

Andrew Jordan, Gordon Shedden, Matt Neal, Colin Turkington, Jason Plato, Alain Menu and Fabrizio Giovanardi have all climbed to the top of the touring car mountain and between them have achieved 12 drivers title.

Across the seven, they have participated in a combined 1897 races and won 261 of them – an awe-inspiring stat that proves the BTCC is one of the best tin top series in the world.

Entering the year as the reigning champion, it is Jordan that is the one with the target on his back bumper. Carrying the number one on his Pirtek Racing Honda Civic, the 24-year-old is more than aware what is expected of him as champion however even with six former victors against him, there is hardly any pressure.

Anybody on here going to Donnington on the 18th March. ?

In two weeks time, Donington Park will provide the setting to officially kick off the 2014 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

Held on Tuesday 18th March, fans will be able to gain free admission to the Derbyshire-based circuit from 12:30pm ahead of a full afternoon of testing.

The morning of Media Day will be for those press shots of the grid as well as all drivers conducting interviews with the motorsport press. An official grid will be published too, with 31 cars expected to be confirmed – therefore leaving series director Alan Gow one remaining TOCA BTCC Licence to distribute as and when it is needed.

With 28 drivers confirmed, there are just three seats on the 2014 grid left with two at Airwaves Racing and one at Exocet Racing up for grabs. One aspect that always causes excitement on launch day is the brand new liveries that will be unveiled for the new season and 2014 is no different.

Once the gates are open, there will be an opportunity for fans to wander the pit lane and look at the 2014 NGTC machines up close. It will also provide a chance to see all seven champions together for the first time this season.

It is expected that at 13:00 testing will begin for four continuous hours around the National configuration of Donington with both compounds of tyres available to use by all drivers.

In the last two years of pre-season testing at Media Day, the driver who topped the timing sheets has then gone onto secure pole position for round one at Brands Hatch – those drivers being Dave Newsham for Team ES Racing in 2012 and Andrew Jordan for Pirtek Racing in 2013.

The opening weekend of the 2014 season takes place on the 29/30 March around the Indy configuration of the Kent track.

Mmm that A class does look nice! although clearly designed for bigger rims than that, they look tiny! Point taken about Plato's attitude sometimes - although I do think he plays up to it, and the old guard always seem to be bitter about the young guys, Neal is the same for me.

Should be a good day at Brands tomorrow.

Monday, March 10 2014

More than half of the 2014 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship grid will be on track at Brands Hatch tomorrow (Tuesday), as teams gear up for the opening round of the season on 29/30 March. Entry to the venue for the test will be free to all spectators.

The line-up at the test is headed by five former champions, including reigning BTCC king Andrew Jordan in the Pirtek Racing Honda Civic. He'll be joined by the works team, as Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden continue to develop the brand new Civic Tourer model.

Local team Airwaves Racing will be bringing two Ford Focuses, with double champion Fabrizio Giovanardi preparing for his return to the series. He'll be keeping a close eye on rival Colin Turkington, who is aiming for glory in the eBay Motors BMW 1-Series, together with team mates Rob Collard and Nick Foster.

AmD will be bringing their new Focus to the test, whilst Adam Morgan and Ciceley Racing have also switched machinery, this time to a Mercedes A Class.

A quartet of Toyotas is also expected. Speedworks enter their fourth BTCC campaign with Ginetta champion Tom Ingram, whilst United Autosports and Handy Motorsport both embark upon debut seasons. James Cole, Glynn Geddie and Simon Belcher are all set to appear tomorrow.

In addition to the BTCC cars, there will be appearances from Clio Cup and Ginetta G55 support categories too. Entry to the venue is free to spectators and the Kentagon restaurant and bar will be open throughout the duration of the test, which will run from 9am to 5pm.

Just a test day at Brands.

The Press Day is at Donington on the 18th March, so I'm sure it will have full sponsors decals on for that.
