mattfinch
Hi all I have a Gunmetal Zed with black badges and thought it would look good to have black/smoked lights all round. I don't really want to take them apart to spray ,so does anyone know a UK seller that sells the standard lights in black. Also does anyone know about the honeycomb stuff that people put over there lights. Looks quite good from a small distance and I recon this option is cheaper then new lights Any pics will help too Thanks
Scott TMN
I too am looking to tint my headlights. Have done for ages, and a while back I did buy some tinting film, but it had a hint of purple The honeycomb stuff you mean is called 'flyeyes' or 'spi vision'. Used it before on a previous car, very easy to apply, very cheap but does reduce light output quite a bit.
StevoD
personally i think this fly eye gear is the tackiest @*!# going, but then your car aint mine
mattfinch
Thanks guys, I think the best ones are the standard lights sprayed inside. All the ones I find on the internet for the front don't work if you have standard HIDs. They all seem to be for the zed that come without HID's for JDM, USA etc
AliveBoy
tried flyeyes on my headlights a few years back, it looked crap so I removed it.
mattfinch
Thanks all I think I'll be giving the flyeyes and film tints a miss then
Scott TMN
Nothing wrong with tint films I guess, I'm just still in search for a good quality film lol
pjf1985
I tried flyeyes before and wasn't all that impressed. Been contemplating painting the insides or using a tint film. Let us know what you go for!
coldel
MoT fail. Anything that reduces the light output is a fail. Although some people have reported on here them getting through - I wonder if the MoT tester was their drinking buddy or something though! Dannyg
I had mine baked and they are DARK! Never had an issue with MOTs or police and they still let enough light through
mattross1313
+1 on most of the above. My better half had Fly-eye on the rear lights of her Evo - looked really cheap & crap from any distance. We now have some good quality tint film and they look far better. Buy cheap, buy twice etc etc.
