Flex
Someones offered to meet me half way to look at a golf 1.4, obviously from cold you can gain a lot (i.e. if it starts first time, blows a load of smoke out etc). Just wondered what opinions are? Or does the seller sound too desperate? He's in northampton, I'm in Norwich so would probably train over to cambridge. Any thoughts anyone? Zhorno
I personally wouldn't . If I new I had a good car for sale I wouldn't go out my way to sell it , because it's a good car it will sell anyway Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'd happily travel a bit to meet a buyer if I felt they were serious. But, at the same time i'd still rather see it start from cold. I bought my Zed when it was warm and I sold by motorbike when it was warm, no problems with either.

brillomaster
how old is the car? if it was an old, high miler i'd want to see it start from cold ideally - if its only 3 years old and done 25k id probably trust it was fine.
Ekona
Car may start from cold but have hot start problems, and vice versa. You'll never protect yourself against everything, so just do the best with what you've got. It wouldn't bother me either way.

mattross1313
I would drive the extra and see it start from cold. I always make a point of asking for this when I go to view a car. I met a guy once halfway and the car was nothing but problems. Depends how far you want to go, and for what car i guess
