Flex
Looking at a run around around 2k, wasnt going to get fully comp, just wondered at what point people think it's worth it. Obv Zed is fully comp.
Lexx
I've always gone fully comp. Even on Sheds. Just makes life easier if you total it.
GMballistic
If your spending £2K odd then surely it makes sense to go fully comp? If it was a £500 run around then I'd say yeah, don't bother but at £2K surely it's cheap enough to insure fully comp and protect.
WhackyWill
Fully Comp is most of the time either the same price or cheaper that TPFT... No brainer.. .. Edited February 10, 2014 by WhackyWill
KyleR
What Will said. In my experience it makes bugger all difference in price going FC.

Ricey
Less than a grand. At that point I insure 3rd party only with a grand excess. Now that does actually make the insurance a lot lower.
GIXXERUK
I found for my 2nd car third party f&t was more expensive ?? Not sure if they considered mega higher if I didn't care to insure fully comp ? Obviously I am fully comp I did find a co that gave me 2 yrs Ncb for the first yr as all my Ncb was on the 911 at the time
Ponsonby
Fully comp is often cheaper than TPFT. Also consider putting wife / girlfriend or a parent on as a named driver.
Jetpilot
Just considered this myself on a £2500 daily, the difference was £40 ish, hardly a deal changer!
Flex
No and I just checked its exactly the same and changing the excess has no impact on cars around £2500, shoulda just ran the comparisons before posting. Never mind!
Vik54
Fully Comp is most of the time either the same price or cheaper that TPFT... No brainer.. .. Yup the days of TPFT being cheaper seem to be long gone - have looked at putting the shed (2004 Astra with 100k on the clock) on TPFT at the last two renewals - always more expensive
davedutch
I think insurers are wary of tpft cover as anyone taking this option is possibly cutting corners elsewhere as well. My kids have found the cheapest option is to add me as named driver, and when I bought the zed as an extra car my insurers mirrored my ncb so this made it a no brainer. Finally, you dont accumulate no claims bonus so over time even less worthwhile.

Never mind! Changed it significantly for me on a 1ķ shed when I banged it up to a grand. I could only go upto £500 excess. Exciting I know! Crazy times.
