Almeida1234
As above chaps what the best way to tackle this I want to paint them red to match my body work Thanks
GMballistic
This is how I would do it; Sand off/remove as much of the old paint as possible (smoothing out any ruff areas with sand paper), de-grease the entire caliper (use brake cleaner), then use a good HT or VHT paint in your desired colour (several thin layers building up & allow to dry between layers). Spray can's will be easier especially if you remove the calipers from the car and will give better results although a good brush & can of paint will do the job in situ but just remember to mask off any areas you don't want to get paint on. rtbiscuit
Send them off to big redd, where they will service them before painting them

ioneabee
hammerite ? I thought it could only be a VHT paint
Almeida1234
Few good ideas, I am looking to fit some braided brake lines soon so I think, so I might spray paint them Not sure if I need any lacquer as well
GIXXERUK
hammerite ? I thought it could only be a VHT paint Nope, done this on at least 10 cars, doesn't crack, doesn't flake, doesn't affect the paint at all and gives a great finish
ioneabee
that expands the colour choice then quite a bit
GIXXERUK
Few good ideas, I am looking to fit some braided brake lines soon so I think, so I might spray paint them Not sure if I need any lacquer as well The hammerite gives a high gloss, no need for lacquer The secret is to put on thin coats to build up a nice finish As soon as the weather improves I'm doing my 370 calipers with some akebono decals, I'll post some pics Edited February 9, 2014 by GIXXERUK
