zubairhussain123
Hi all, I'm looking for a decent mechanic in the North/East London area that could fit a new stage 2 clutch and lightened flywheel, and fix a broken joint in my exhaust. My normal mechanic has gone AWOL and I wouldn't trust any popup garage around this area to touch my baby! the flange joint (i think that's what its called) where the exhaust pipe joins onto the backbox intake has completely corroded and broken off from one side. I took a photo when it was up on a ramp, but lost the photo from my phone. Ideally looking to get this done in the next 3 weeks as I have my MOT renewal coming up, and it failed last week because of the exhaust. I've got until 20th Feb to fix it! Help
Nick350z
Exactly where my exhaust broke - it's apparently very common indeed. You've got 2 options really. You could get a garage to weld a sleeve over it - any garage or exhaust place could do that while you wait if you're worried about leaving it with an unknown, or do what most people do (including me) and take it as an opportunity to fit a nice aftermarket one. zubairhussain123
Yeah I wanted to go aftermarket, but at this point I need to fit a new clutch/flywheel and get it serviced. Really can't add an aftermarket exhaust to the quote at this point. I'll go for the sleeve and then look into aftermarket in a few months. Going to hate losing the volume of the exhaust once it's repaired though!
richmillions
I had the same issue on the exhaust so got an Invidia. If your not going to do that right away someexhaust specialist might be able to fix it until you can get an after market exhaust. I'm Getting my clutch and flywheel and P3 done at Kaizer in two weeks, I used him before and he was very good in terms of price and the work carried out.

RS8055
I had my clutch and flywheel done with Kaizer and I could not recommend him any higher! Will be going back to do my P3 and possibly to fit an Invidia cat-back as I have exactly the same problem with my exhaust! LOVE the sound I get from it currently though! Will miss it greatly! glrnet
Why not give Adem a shout at Fast MOT (trader on here), he's East London but hopefully he can recommend someone he trusts. ** EDIT ** Oh and PM WhackyWill, he's North London and knows some good people I think. Good luck.

zubairhussain123
Nice!! How much did it set you back and where from? Really want an exhaust on this thing. Although, since I got it repaired, it's got such a nice low purr/growl, so much better than it was before with a broken exhaust! I was very pleasantly surprised
RS8055
I got it from Steve 350z (one of the traders on here). About £850 for the cat-back which is a true dual with x pipe. I like it. Sound wise, quiet inside the cabin (except a quiet deep growl when on the throttle!) but surprisingly loud outside the car!
