I never touched the list honest I think if you take it with a pinch of salt it gives a rough idea. I mean I saw a DE smash a HR up the quarter mile 2 people on here... so there is obviously a lot of varying factors but best not take it as gospel.

No they wont have that MY VXR THATS TUNED SO HIGH THAT IT WILL BREAK IN 100 MILES WILL EASILY BEAT AN OEM 350z IN A STRAIGHT LINE.

Went on a trackday at Donington the other day and while the Cerbs (and the other TVR's) were holding their own down the straights they were mobile roadblocks in the corners - @*!# brakes, suspect handling and just looked rather sedate. When 172 Clios are flashing past you even an 8 second 0-100 isnt going to restore man points

mmmm number 69. TVR Cerbera 4.5 does the 0-100 sprint in 8 SECONDS! and will look and sound glorious whilst doing it.... i cant think of anything faster for the money, can pick one up for under £10k!

My old man used to have a Cerbera 4.5. I never got to drive it though as I was only 20 something years old at the time and I'm pretty sure he thought I'd crash it ~ which I probably would have back then.

ah, handling is easy enough to rectify - decent set of tyres and more a more track oriented brake set up is easy enough to do.

 

but 8 second 0-100 is proper quick! especially for a car with room for two little'uns in the back!

Interesting list, doesn't appear to be massively accurate but still a nice read. This really puts things into perspective:

 

Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang 5.5 s

Nissan 350Z (308bhp) 12.7 s

 

Think about what it feels like mashing your 350Z to 100MPH. Now imagine doing that in 7.2 seconds less time! It must be a serious rush.

That's a good point, if you haven't ridden a motorbike it's hard to imagine but yes 0-100 in a few seconds is quite a rush!

My old man's Cerbera was pretty reliable but it was only a few years old when he had it. His Chimaera though which he had first was a bl**dy nightmare which is why he traded up to the Cerbera.

TVR Cerbera's are great while everything is working ok. Lost count of the number of engine rebuilds we have done now on the 4.2 and 4.5 V8's. You always see one broken down somewhere on the way to or from Lemans every year

As a rule, I tend to include anything under 10secs to 100mph as a seriously quick car.

Using that method I think the VXR 500 seems to be the best value for money buying new and being under 10 seconds to 100mph. You could buy a TVR's second hand but would end up with a garden ornament. Lotus exige seems to be the other best value in that list.

That's why I like motorbikes, ridiculous power to weight ratio. I've had bikes easily capable of doing 0-100 I'm under 8s. It's a huge rush.
