Stu_2424
Hi guys Just a query, when I bought the car the previous owner had a pair of vented and grooved discs that he had put on but said they had warped. Anybody know any reasons why I can't have these skimmed and then refit? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Marcus01
Hi, Discs generally are not known to "warp" you will have an underlying problem which is causing the discs to developed DTV disc thickness variation. Skimming on its own will not give a long term solution to the judder you are experiencing.
Stu_2424
Thanks for the reply. The old owner refitted the original discs which I have had on ever since and there is no problem. Is it possible the discs were sent out with an issue from the factory? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Marcus01
That would suggest, the discs have pad pick up on them, in this case skimming would be a good option.
Stu_2424
Good stuff, thanks guys. Once i have them skimmed and fitted again, what would be the early warning signs that problems are returning? I'm guessing a juddering under heavy braking. Maybe an on/off dragging noise whilst moving? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Marcus01
Check runout on fitting with a dial gauge.
