oderuyter
Had my phone and car keys stolen last night, and lovely people at Nissan want to lighten my wallet to the tune of £777 to change the lock set on the Zed - I should think 666 would be more appropriate! Oh and the kicker, need to wait 3-4 weeks for the lock set to arrive! Rant Over, thanks for listening!
WhackyWill
What that is ludicrous..HOW MUCH...Can you not just get the key number and get one cut and recoded...??
coldel
You could still physically open the car though couldnt you? Can't remember but isnt there a key entry under the drivers side handle?
oderuyter
no, its the full lock set - not just the key. If i had just the key done they would still be able to get in the car and rob it blind and/or hotwire it. Considering they have my phone aswell (with my address on it) I'm not taking the chance. Lexx
Can you not just get the key number and get one cut and recoded...?? Someone would still have a working key to his car though..... I agree the price is ridiculous. I would speak to ZMANALEX/Clark Motorsport and see if they have a full set of locks/keys/ignition from a breaker. I'm sure Alex can help though
coldel
Yeah the stealers are going to be top $ worth having a punt around on here first See, I really do think we need a 'venting forum'
AliveBoy
That sucks! Something I'd REALLY recommend for future, I have key insurance as part of my main car insurance policy, its £3 or something a month more. If my keys get lost or stolen they'll replace my car, house and if required work keys with no excess. Ask Elephant about it

Oh really? Damn, sorry! I'll bear that in mind. Do you have somewhere else you can keep the car to avoid it being at the home location? Grr just gets you so annoyed! And yes I agree a venting forum is a good shout!
bamdc2
Check you home insurance mate, you make have a section on replacement keys and these costs could be picked up under the policy.

M13KYF
defo worth trying if Clark Motorsport can get them cheaper but you would still require someone to do the installation and paring of keys with the NATS
