scobie140
299. something!! if only it was one more for the magical 300! can't remember the torque. The graph is still in the car, I forgot to lift it earlier when I was fixing the sqoosher NRV. I'll drop TDI a pm see if they can save me trying to scan it then stick it on the list. Brought back some good memories checking out the Type R's they had there

Brought back some good memories checking out the Type R's they had there Cool. I was just shy of 300 as well with 293.4bhp. Still very happy though and it feels a lot better now imo. You could always do what I did and just take a picture of your graph with your camera phone and post the picture from that.
scobie140
Been a while since i've done much/ updated this Rear windows tinted Fitted braided HEL lines all round just before the MOT last year no pics Wee box of goodies to work with, a magnetic sump plug and molyslip in there hiding Had a busy day yesterday giving her a post winter service and check over Washer pump packed in whist being parked up over the winter, so replaced that. Engine oil, Gearbox oil & molyslip, Diff oil Changed back away from the nissan gearbox and diff oil and much happier with it now Mechanically pretty sound and happy with everything, a few of the lower suspension bushes are looking a bit past it so will look into replacing them at somepoint in the summer hopefully, no play in them but they do look a bit past it. Few bad stone chips on the bonnet, and a fair few rust bubbles appearing here and there so will be shopping around for a full respray to sort this out and make a few subtle changes, Hopefully will find someone good, local and not too expensive W-brace needs removed and cleaned up and painted, gave it a good check and its pretty solid just looks bad, few rusty metal trims under near abit rotten and need replaced but as far as i can see they just help hold on plastic trim so nothing that can't wait till summer as still solid enough for now. scobie140
Yeh by the time i went round all the little scuff, bubble, dings it was pretty much a full respray so thought might aswell go for it. Yeh best no tell your wife that haha
Scott TMN
That is such a cool picture! bet you are excited! I was of the same thinking but I queried with a bodyshop and its like 4k for a respray because of having to remove the seals etc... so was quite a big jump than just addressing the various issues. scobie140
Got the car back last night Been chucking it down pretty much since I picked it up so not had a chance to give it a 100% going over but so far happy with the results after a quick check. Vauxhall VXR Green ( Grasshopper Lime Metallic) and green holoflake Can't wait for a sunny day to see it in its full effect. The more eagle eyed of you will spot that the wheels have been put on the wrong rotation but i'll swap them over when the rain clears. I think new alloys might have to be next on the cards now along with a new CD player Just got to finish wiring up the new aerial as per http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/96609-aerial-delete/ if anyone can help with that?
scobie140
Well it would appear that this respray has got someone's knickers in a twist on Facebook due to it being green. I would just like to say it was not copied, yes it is green (vauxhall vxr green) all the darker coloured mods were done well before I Decided on a colour change as I thought they suited the sunset. Other than the green dark similarities they're different, didn't realise colour scheme's were copyrighted as other than that I can't see much that's the same. No I don't read banzi or any other car magazine as accused. I dont want have an argument about this but didn't see the need for the slating I got, no one bats an eyelid when other's get the same splitter, bumper etc.

Don't worry, there was a Green Z 'The bitch' in Banzai long before Craigs. I'm not on Douche Face Ache Tw**ter or any of that cr*p. It's all a load of rubbish and if I was you scobie I'd just delete the account unless of course you really need it for communicating with family members who don't live close by. Personally I think that green looks fantastic on your Zed and I really like the aerial delete. Enjoy the car and forget all the sad people who let's be honest, mostly drive nothing more exciting than a Ford Focus or some other run of the mill car.

scobie140
Soo its been a while, forgot to update this with the new wheels, service & new front drop links. Nothing major so a a random pic of the car on the new wheels will do. All was pretty quiet with not much plans until getting the Golf R leading me to decide the zed needed more power. I had planned on waiting a year or so but Bennet (GT4zed) sorted me out a good deal for a supercharger kit so the journey begins. Firstly I needed to tackle the totally shot W brace so that was replaced with shiny new ultra speed one. It was that bad i could fold it into small enough bits to go in the recycling wheely bin. It has been a long patient wait on the parts arriving and there is still more to come but it should be worth the wait. First off up-rate the clutch and fly wheel, I went with the JWT light weight kit And so it begins. Access to remove the connector on that blue plug was brutal! Old clutch as found Never took any pics after this of the rebuild, put fresh oil and molyslip in once complete. Never came across many issues, New throw out bearing was about 10mm bigger in depth but should be fine once I've adjusted the clutch pedal. Struggled for a bit getting the gearbox to line up due to working on mono block the jacks wheels kept wanting to follow the grooves of the bricks, but got there in the end. Gave the car a quick test run down the street and all is good so car is back on the ramps, hopefully i'll start picking away at stripping the car and installing the supercharger after work when the weather allows. Its going to be a long slow process with work and weather restrictions. Edited December 26, 2017 by scobie140
scobie140
Next job Fuel pump fitted and pipe 80% ran. Had a bit of a night mare getting the line up to the pump but got there in the end (http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/114124-fuel-return-routing/) . I'll tackle the rest of the fueling mods over the next few days hopefully Edited December 26, 2017 by scobie140
scobie140
A little more progress yesterday. Yes I know the engine bay needs a clean its on the to do list but i'm fast running out of time to get the important stuff done before work robs me of any spare time for the next 2 month so well down my priorities list. Got the upper plenum removed, I think the gasket is a tad f*cked All the plenum bolts were really slack, I probably should have re torqued them at some point after fitting the kintix plenum years back. Some oil build up over the last 12/13 years I must have had a small vacuum leak here as a result of the lack of tight bolts The masking tape wouldn't stick so i had to stick duc-tape over the top of it for extra security. Injectors out New injectors with new o-rings fitted Hopefully get a good run at it today and finish the fueling side of things off and get the oil pan and cooler fitted. Patiently awaiting the arrival of the inter-cooler Edited December 26, 2017 by scobie140
