Engine management light

Evening everyone!

I need some advice please.

Been driving the z today with no problems. However this evening as i was driving the engine management light came on. Car is running fine, no noise, knocks etc.

Any ideas?

I know a diagnostic is the best but i hope someone might have some things i can try / look at

Cheers

Could be an number of things including something or nothing. Sorry not very helpful I know but what I mean is sometimes the O2 sensors on the exhausts could f**k up a little (especially in this weather) and cause the light to go on or it could be something else.

Your best bet is to have the code read by a diagnostic reader at a garage ~ they'll be able to read the code and tell you what the fault is. If it's an O2 sensor or similar you can then have the code reset and see if it come's on again & then deal with the problem.

You can reset the ECU yourself if you wish via a pedal dance. See here; http://www.350z-uk.c...e-valve-resets/

Thanks guys - as always quick and helpful responses :)

I had a quick look at the pedal dance, think it might take me a few goes!

What is it with these cars and stupidly long sequences? Ive been trying for the past week to get my key fob to work again after the battery went flat and can i get the sequence to work...no chance haha

Really hoping its nothing re the light :(

Where abouts do you live?

There may be a member nearby who has an OBD reader that can help out.
