oldbonesmcgee
Hi, Just wondered if anyone has done this or considered it. I have a private plate which is only 5 characters long, so I would like to have a shorter plate, so to make it look nice and clean and neat, I am going to try to get my hands on an American front number plate bracket which is shorter than the UK one. I can get one from a US seller for 60 quid all in (posted), but I just wondered if anyone knows if you can get them here. US plate holder: Cheers Dan

mattross1313
I looked into this a few months ago, but I was looking at the branded tuner ones as opposed to that which I guess is genuine? eBay US could be a good place to start - might find a used one? Jordan777er
Another option is to get a plate bracket that screws in where the tow hook goes. That's where I put mine and it keeps the front end nice and cleean and also keeps me from having to drill into my bumper.

oldbonesmcgee
@jordan, I was hoping not to need to fill any exposed holes though. I don't really mind the standard mount point I just want a shorter holder. @zamanalex how much posted to Aberdeen Scotland?

JoshC
Also, can someone tell me what size front plate I need to order for the shortened US mount? Is it 9x3inches?
ApexTM
I am currently in the US on holiday (ish). I have a size digit number plate. Would this work with that? Also would I still be left with the two screw holes in my bumper when I fitted the smaller plate holder or do they just screw into the uk spec bracket. Many Thanks, Tom Edited December 13, 2015 by ApexTM
