evest
Hi folks, Just got back from a tour abroad with the RAF, so the Zed has been on the driveway for 4 months. Unfortunately during that time my good lady wife only managed to start and run the engine once... despite my request that this be done each week!!!! So funny old thing, she emailed to say it won't start - clearly a dead battery. Managed to jump start it tonight, and it revved up ok to begin with, but then seeming went into limp mode, with the ESP OFF light and skid marks on, engine management light on and unable to rev above 1500rpm. It's a bit late at night so haven't had time to leave the engine running for long, so it won't yet restart without jump leads as battery hovering at about 8V. Will try to charge more tomorrow. So, entered diagnostic mode using the pedals (don't have a code reader) but have counted the flashes and have code P1121 which is Throttle Control Actuator. Car was running fine before I left and the battery was almost brand new. I'm hoping this doesn't mean a new throttle body, anybody got any other ideas? Cheers!! ZMANALEX
Best to charge the battery and then look at this issue again once the battery is fully charged. Flat batteries throw all sorts of weird codes. Preowned throttle control actuators are in stock if required. Alex.
