ostego
Hi, Know this if one of a few threads ive made now asking for advice but am just extra cautious with my 350 so want to make sure everything is perfect! Basically, it is due a service, but the service history seems different to how the schedule should be : 2003 GT 2004, 4k miles : oil change 2005, 7.5k miles : minor service 2006, 11k miles : oil change 2007, 14k miles : P3 major service 2008, 21k miles : P1 minor service & oil change 2009, 27k miles : P3 major service 2011, 32k miles : P3 major service 2012, 34k miles : oil change & minor service Since I have only bought the car recently, I'd like to have a comprehensive service to ensure everything is up to scratch (especially since the last service was just over a year ago). But am a bit confused as to why it has had quite a few P3 services since 2007 in it's life according to its history. It is currently at 39k miles. Should i ask for another P3 service? Or would this be pointless as it's last one was 7k miles as just 2 years ago. And would i be right in saying we're looking at about £250 for a P3? Also, what is the general consensus on getting it done at a nissan garage? Is there any merit in having them done by the specialists? Or does anyone know of any decent places to have a good honest service done in the Berkshire/Surrey area?
GMballistic
If you take it to Nissan you will pay a fortune and they won't be any better than a good independent garage so for starters I'd find a good independent garage to take your Zed too. You will save hundreds. Has your Zed had it's spark plugs changed at all do you know? This should be done I believe around the 54K miles mark or every 5 years whichever comes soonest. Also the coolant should be changed every 3 years and brake fluid every 2 years I think so probably wise to get that done as well. Your Zed doesn't appear to have been driven regularly (as the mileage is low) so I assume a previous owner was just being extra careful by giving it a major service more regularly which is a good thing imo. Jez @ H-Dev
Some service items are time based (i.e. coolant, brake fluid) and some are mileage based. Nissan don't actually specify a service period for gearbox and diff oil but we recommend a service after 36k miles. More info and prices are in the link below. We're based in Berkshire, just off M4 J13. Get in touch if you'd like any more info http://www.h-dev.co.uk/index2.php?page=350ZServicing

KyleR
personally I'd get it in for a major service with all fluids replaced (engine oil, diff, gearbox, brake fluid, coolant, top up power steering fluid) air and oil filter and plugs. That way you're covering all the bases since you're not too sure of whats been done or not.

You'll know exactly what fluids etc you've used too so know it's quality rather than relying on what cheap old stuff may have been used in the past service. Will be in touch some time soon. Think it is best to just go for a full P3, can never be too cautious
