WhackyWill
Not good news I'm afraid, but still speculation. Michael Schumacher has reportedly been moved out of intensive care and into a rehabilitation ward prompting fresh fears about his recovery from a skiing accident Schumacher's manager Sabine Kehm has not responded to the latests report in Germany. But if true, it means that Schumacher, 45, is out of danger from dying from his injuries. Medical sources always said that there would come a point when doctors would have to inform his wife Corinna, brother Ralf and father Rolf that there is nothing more they can do for him. A rehab ward means he will still receive the same massage therapy and muscle toning that he has been getting daily but that doctors no longer expect significant improvements - certainly in the short term - in his condition. "Schumacher's transfer to a special rehabilitation clinic is being prepared and the chances of full recovery have dropped," said German magazine Bunte. The Abendzeitung in Munich also quoted unnamed medical sources saying that he had been moved within the hospital. It has been more than five months since Schumacher's tragic skiing crash in the slopes of Meribel in the French Alps. The seven-time world champion's family and manager last spoke about Schumacher's health condition in the middle of April, stating that the German ace has "moments of consciousness and awakening." Since then there have been no fresh updates, fuelling speculation that he will not make a full recovery. Schumi in a coma, unable to speak or move, is still able to dominate newspaper headlines and TV broadcasts from Alaska to Zagreb yet fears remain that he is in a permanent vegetative state. GMballistic
This sucks. Really just hoping for some good news about his recovery but it never seems to happen. Terrible for his children, wife and family having to go through all this as well.
Linus27
I guess at least he lived a very full life, achieved incredible success, will go down in history as a legend, lived out his dream and achieved more than most ever dream off. Now I know that's no consolation but I guess it's something that his family, friends and fans can be proud off.
glrnet
He certainly seemed to live life to the full, only here once etc but unfortunately it seems to have bitten him the bum. Just a complete tragedy.

WhackyWill
Schumacher out of Hospital Michael Schumacher has been moved to a special rehabilitation unit at the hospital in Grenoble, according to the German weekly newsmagazine Bunte. Last week, a private German rehabilitation clinic in Allensbach denied reports that it was already treating the seven time world champion. The DPA news agency said 45-year-old Schumacher, who has been in a coma since a skiing fall in late December, is still at the Grenoble hospital. But Bunte is reporting in its latest issue that, even though the former Ferrari and Mercedes driver's chances of recovery are now small, Schumacher is now being prepared for rehabilitation. He has reportedly already been discharged from the neurological care unit at the Grenoble University hospital, and transferred to a unit specialising in rehabilitation treatment. Citing clinical sources, Bunte added that Schumacher's next phase of treatment will prepare him for transferral to a specialist rehabilitation clinic. glrnet
Out of hospital and out of a coma but they are saying nothing as usual. They are clearly taking it one step at a time and will only release news when it suits them. No doubt there will be another slew of rumour and speculation. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-27868787

I agree that the doors are going to close for a while. I also think we should respect their wishes for privacy. I know we all crave to hear how he's doing but their privacy is really important. I just hope the media understands and respects this as per my earlier posts. Fantastic news, let's hope for as good a recovery as possible but leave them in peace while Michael and his family rebuild their life. Yes, there'll be no updates for a while although it's widely reported that he's now in The University Hospital in Lausanne. Pete
