millsy-350z
Morning all, i have an imported 2003 plate nissan fairlady without brembos. i've been to unipart this morning to get a new set of front brake pads, but there offering 1 or 4 piston pads. Does anyone know which ones i will need and are they easy to fit myself? Many Thanks
Lexx
Unipart pads are crap. Speak to one of the many traders here and they'll sort you with good quality pads. It's an easy DIY job. There's a guide in the How To sub forum.
Arran
Ebc yellowstuff
coldel
Usual brands are EBC which get mixed reviews, Black Diamond which so far have good reviews, Ferrodo which seem to be the recognised good 'uns but do come at a premium at over a hundred quid for a pair. Depends on how you drive mate, I used to pootle along with the occasional squirt on the throttle, nothing a middle of the road everyday set of pads couldn't handle. OllyB
If your non brembo then you will only have 1 piston. As above tho, go for a decent set.
Neilp
Id go with ebc yellowstuff if you're on a budget
GMballistic
Another vote for EBC pad's if your looking for a good "cheapish" set of pads.
Arran
I wouldn't say ebc yellows are budget they are just cheaper than other competition brands I found them better then black diamond by a considerable margin

Neilp
Lol I didn't say they were budget. I said if your on a budget! They're fantastic pads. I checked mines the other day after 10k miles and a few track days and they're still in great condition! Once properly warmed they are even better! Arran
I agree they are properly good pads, I did the same the other day looked at them after about 3k over here daily use along with the 2k euro trip to stelvio and the ring. Still have over half left!
MITZ@CougarStore
Yellowstuff pads offer an excellent pad for road and fast road, with many of our members even using them on track, please let us know if we can help...
millsy-350z
Cheers all for your helpful advise! I will certainly be staying clear of unipart. Sounds like yellow stuff is worth getting. Can I get a quote for two fronts or all round?
