GMballistic
The amps at the moment are sitting under the boot floor, where the spare wheel used to be. Either I'll build a new floor above them, that lifts on a hinge off the bottom edge of the sub box, or i'll move the amps to the empty space behind the driver seat (in the cabin where the OEM sub used to be) I think that would be probably the most sensible place for the amps. zubairhussain123
The rain has held me out for a few days, so I couldn't carry on with the build. Still haven't received the carpet, so couldn't finish the box, but I've done the amp rack and fitted it behind the seat! Although, in all my playing around, I've managed to generate a power leak in the car, it's killed off a brand new battery overnight. So need to find the leak now! Fun times I also had to hot glue the edges of the box, as the sawdust mix left some small gaps. It looked airtight, but I thought I may aswel be doubly sure, wouldn't want to rip the carpet off if i find a leak later on. Progress pics: Finally got my bootspace back!!! zubairhussain123
Lol yeah could always be worse! Hoping tomorrow is a decent day, althought it doesn't help waking up at 12 when sunset it around 4! lol

zubairhussain123
Progress pics: Installed and tested!! The bass is very tight and clean and does drop low; there's zero rattle that I can hear when it drops hard (and that's without using any Dynamat). This box is 100% better than installing an aftermarket sub in the OEM bose location - no doubt whatsoever. I messed up the box a bit, as it sticks out by just under an inch on the left hand side of the above photo. But not enough for me to care. I'm not great at woodworking, but has done the job well for me. I now have my bootspace back, and my amps are all hidden and neatly installed! I put my spare tyre back in, as that holds the boot floor up very well - easier than building a new floor for now. Job done.
zubairhussain123
I'm now selling this incase anyone just wants an aftermarket behind-seat subwoofer. I have no use for it anymore, and can't exactly sell it with the car lol. Anyone want it for £20? Completely ready to install and screw in a sub. zubairhussain123
Lol welcome back Patch! No worries, I used your thread as a guide that it was at least possible, and it does sound so much better! I'm glad your absence made me decide to just go for it
R35LEE
Looks great but I would get some guard bars on the sub pronto before you do a shop in it and a tin of beans goes through it
zubairhussain123
Looks great but I would get some guard bars on the sub pronto before you do a shop in it and a tin of beans goes through it Yeah definitely gonna hunt for a decent guard! I don't really let anyone put anything in my car anyway

zubairhussain123
I was thinking of something along these lines:
R35LEE
Mate they look perfect, use some nice stainless screws to fix them
Fluke
Use bath room mirror screws, the ones with the dome covers.
GMballistic
Use bath room mirror screws, the ones with the dome covers. That'll work nicely.
R35LEE
You may have an issue with the dome covers vibrating out. I would go for a stainless screw with an allen head or triangle security head of some kind just for the look
zubairhussain123
I like the idea of a triangle security head! Will see what I can source. The setup is getting better by the day as the subwoofer is wearing in! For anyone debating this install, definitely do it!! Pretty happy that I actually took the time and effort to build the box myself rather than buying one
EvansJD2112
I was thinking of something along these lines: Go for it :-) I went for the same, managed to get off an eBay seller in Israel for £10 delivered! Photo is a bit blurred I'm afraid
zubairhussain123
Nice!! That's exactly the look I want! and bloody cheap too
CJRamze
I'm wondering if I can get a Car audio place to fit a nexus 7 into my dash... In my last 3 cars I've always used tablets windscreen mounted for navigation. Thankfully the windscreens were quote low slung so it didn't intrude vision too much. Your implementation of Nexus in cubby is exactly what I want!
Fluke
If you want andriod, why not go for a Hudl? Cheap as chips especially if you use you Tesco club card points. It not that hard to build and install a tablet, the hardest bit is getting hold of a sat nav cubby. Couple of slightly older photo's when I had a Nook fitted and before I dicovered flocking.
