AC Removal UPDATED

1. Have freon reclaimed(not sure how the laws are here, but i think you are not allowed to dumb it)

2. Buy AC removal tools(funky little tools to release the fittings that hold the AC lines togeather) very standard tools, most autozone have them

3. Remove compressor drive belt

4. Remove the lines of the compressor

5. Remove compressor

6. Remove the AC lines up to the firewall

7. Loosen radiator and remove the condenser from in front of radiator

 

The heating system will to be affected, also i have heard the removing of condenser from in front of the radiator improves airflow to the radiator and improves cooling

 

So, benifits would be

1. Modest weight reduction

2. Removal of belts will allow the engine to rev faster( Some say, i really doubt it)

3. Improved cooling

 

I will do this after xmas, and post pictures and weigh all the stuff

Its also the de-humidfier so beware!
