Easty
So I'm just wondering if there's a oil warning light that comes on if the oil gets low in the car? I know it sounds a daft question but looking at my oil yesterday and it was very low but I didn't have a light on or anything to warn me
M13KYF
no if oil light comes on it means your pimping air around the engine and not oil. Not good at all. Its a oli pressure light and not an oil level light
cs2000
Pimping air...hmm Lol and yes, you shouldnt ever see that light, if you do its pretty much too late already.
Jared350z
I had the same problem about 2 months ago and now my car is in the garage having an engine rebuild. VQ35 engines hate it when they are starved of oil, thet get all upset and poop the bed. hopefully this wont happen to you
Easty
Luckily it hasn't come on. . . I thought there would of been a light come on if it gets too low. . . I checked it yesterday and it was very low so I was just wondering if there was a light that comes on to tell you it's low and not just before it dies!! Neilp
Id be monitoring that tbh. Sounds like potential engine problems with drinking oil.
M13KYF
+1, 2 litres is a lot
Sized
+1, 2 litres is a lot + 2, engine only takes c1.5 litres from bottom to top mark I think? Depends when OP last checked their oil as to whether there's a drinking problem though?
WhackyWill
I check all the fluids every week, takes a minute...("or maybe 2 mins with that stupid dipstick").
GMballistic
I check all the fluids every week, takes a minute...("or maybe 2 mins with that stupid dipstick"). +1. Got to hate that darn dipstick though. Worst designed thing on the Zed and probably any other car, period.

GMballistic
I keep getting oil splatters on my shiny hard pipe A lot of blown engines recently, highlights the importance of checking oil levels regularly Very true & good advice.I came from a Subaru EJ20 Turbo engine & more recently a Honda VTEC engine so checking oil regularly is nothing new to me as both these engine use a fair bit of oil when driven hard.
