Jared350z
I put my car in for its service and new fluids this morning and got a call from the garage soon after dropping it off and they told me my little end is going or my big end is going!!! I got the car from paul brown cars only 5 months ago, I have tried calling them but the call wont go through and their website no longer exists!!! Got a feeling this is gonna suck!!! Will370z
Oh that sucks - fingers crossed someone may have some helpful advice here for you or some of the traders should be able to help with parts
Lexx
Paul Brown cars went under and came back under another name. Have a look at Supras for sale on eBay. You'll recognise the brown fence their stick are always photographed in front of. Their new trading name will be there.
Lexx
Just checked. Its Boys Toys Specialist Cars. Not 100% certain on the ezaxt circumstances of the name change etc. So tread carefully.
Tricky-Ricky
Bad luck fella, I know for sure that paul brown cars have a bad reputation, maybe get a second opinion if you not certain if the garage are 100% reliable.
coldel
Yes I noticed the other day Paul Browns website had disappeared...doesn't bode well. I did a bit of nosing around and found some very unsavoury threads amongst some Supra owners about them... http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?275173

I just called them and when I asked why the background was the same and in the same location they got all funny with me!! its definitely them as I recognised the voice on the phone. The guy on the phone said he had never herd of "paul brown cars"
coldel
Ah Boys Toys Specialist Cars, I mailed them inquiring about a car the other day (last weds I think?) and it took 3 days for them to come back with a one word answer, all in lower case, without even saying hello. I followed up with a question about 'warranties' which has been ignored.

Tricky-Ricky
Supra forum is not allowed to mention them, some sort of legal injunction, due to so many people reporting bad deals and cars from them, so they are definitely a company to avoid like the plague. HARMLU
just a thought, and a bit of a 'naughty' one.. Have you looked in to buying a warranty from a third party company? Not the ideal situation, but if your car is ok at the moment... On another note, what made them say one of the ends is on it's way out? Dblock
How can they tell one one of the big/small ends is on their way out?

Jared350z
How can they tell one one of the big/small ends is on their way out? Ive taken it to garage D in watford and as soon as julian lifted the bonnet knew what the problem was. I trust him completely with what he's said. We did talk of doing a RB conversion and also he has a VQ30DET there from a gloria. Was a hard hard decision but Im going with a rebuild with up rated parts.

There is a good set of pistons and rods and cams for sale on here for a spanking price. Should blast by 310whp with them tbh. Garage D know their stuff tbh. docwra
Julian @ GarageD is a legend, not the cheapest and always pretty busy but he knows his onions, coincidentally he is IMO one of the best drifters in Europe as well
