Ross Mac
I've only been a Z owner for 3 weeks, and I told myself I would leave it standard but the modding demon has been whispering in my ear..... I've been spending a lot of time on the web and in tuning shops looking at the different wheels on offer but I cant decide - big fat 19's or some 20's. My old Mk4 Golf had some big 19" BBS on it and I loved the slightly oversized look that they gave the car - but Im not convinced that this look lends itself well to the Z. I wont be putting a big kit on so will 20's make it look a bit like a Tonka truck? Just after some opinions (and maybe some pics if poss) on the subject. My personal preference is to get some 8.5 and some 10 x 19's and drop it by 20 or 30mm - but the lure of having some dubs is strong!! Sarnie
Imo it depends on the wheel, sometimes 20's can look stoopid as they flood the arches
rickya
Imo, with no kit etc then 19's. Though more important to have good offset & width of tyre.
lomoto
19" in my opinion, but then thats what I have

stuey
20s............. get them on......!!
Stew
Depends.... The look of 20's is good but to me, handling is more important than out and out 'bling' I'd go for 19s but that's my personal preference.
Kev946
Speaking from my experience of the 350z, I would not go 20's. I went 19's and the extra weight and width really put a strain on the standard suspension to the point where I was not happy with handling when pushing hard. I ended up upgrading struts and springs, which I hadn't budgeted for. Most on here know these wer fully forged Work wheels so weren't heavy cast wheels, but you will be increasing the weight unless you are careful what you choose. I've just ugraded the BMW wheels and stuck to 19's. Overall I've saved 25 kg , and it's transformed the cars ride and handling.
Ross Mac
The general consensus seems to be for 19's so I'll stick to that. The suspension will be getting done as well so can close up the arch gap. I was browsing last night and found these which I think will look pretty good - http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/LNP01/25-1125

Do a search on here and my350z.com for pictures They are US wheels and there was some issues with spokes cracking, but this was a few years ago. These are cast wheels I believe so won't be super light.

Ross Mac
Those Volks on the black one look great but I bet they cost fortunes!! Im quite keen to keep it OEM looking so a set of Nismo LM GT4's or similar would be my first choices. I liked those ones Big Phil had on his Azure Z - they looked

Stew
Rotas are only available in 18 inch. Unless that's changed! They are tasty though!

Adam@Z1auto.com
don't forget tire prices - there is a HUGE difference between 19 and 20's, and a far more limited selection of true performance tires in 20's

Ross Mac
On a slightly different tangent does anyone know if BBS wheels fit the Z? I had a set of 19" BBS CH on my golf gti and I totally loved them. Was just wondering if they made them in the required patterns / offsets etc. According to the BBS site they go up to 10 x 19 but it doesnt give any more details than that. I've not seen many pics of Z's with the more 'euro' styled wheels on them. May look silly but just a thought.....
