:RedZed:
I'm trying to locate a rattle coming from the engine bay. The noise appears to come from the back of the engine if you were to be looking at it from the front of the car, where you would normally see the exhaust manifold in a 4 pot. What's back there? Anything that could come loose or need replacing with age? Thanks!

Paddy78
Probaby the central fuel pressure regulator. Nothing to worry about. You can tell if it's this by touching it and it will be vibrating in time to the rattle.
leonk
Does it go when you dip the clutch?
Daryl
I had a strange rattle sound coming from what I thought was the dash, or at the back of the engine. Replaced the Y pipe and Cats, and the rattle has gone. Maybe its one/both of these, though I hope for your sake not.

rothers2901
Heat shields sounds the likely source

Daryl
Well i ripped both heat shields off, and still had the rattle, was only replacing them that got rid of the noise.
