Grundy
Couldn't find a Bodyshop to get it sprayed in time for Japfest/Siege So we're spraying it our selves this weekend Got a Spray gun/Furnace/Garage lined up. Plan is to spray it, then after the shows (Depending on the spray job) Take it to a body shop to get it resprayed along with the arches sorted. Richie94gts
Looks good, fitment looks better than the one I'm getting fitted at the mo! Are you going two-tone or keeping it one colour?

Grundy
Sooooo, long ass day! Lesson to be learnt today....I am not allowed to touch filler! as you will see. Basically took 2 hours longer today due to sanding Anyway, filler aside, the bumper is coming along nicely. All we have left to do, is spray the bumper ginge and lacquer. So much prep gone into the bumper, lovely and smooth So fingers crossed the finish should be good.... 2 Hours later the filler is sanded down level again! As I said, I'm never going near it again Although was my first time using it All washed up ready for the primer Ignore the light That was a temp method to get the primer settled quick enough to start work on the grill, we have a proper furnace for the paint tomorrow. Time for wet and dry to get a smooth surface on the primer Masked up ready to start the grill And that is all, until tomorrow Oh and now she needs a clean...

Grundy
So, up bright and early to finish off where we left off! Plan was to let the black dry over night, to allow us to mask it off today to get the body colour on. Primer wasn't too much of a problem drying, but with the paint we wanted to make sure it was at the right temperature...so we brought this bad boy in! And my god the room got hot! So the black had settled down nicely, Just a few bits of over spray on the primer, nothing a bit of light sanding couldn't fix. Time to mask up and prep for the paint First coat goes on here's our genius contraption to get rid of some of the fumes Paint on Paint removed and time for a wash, to get rid of all the masking tape residue. Ready for Lacquer The shine! All lacquered up Ready to put back on, we loosened the headlights to allow the bumper to slide on without scraping the bumper And the finished product And she's home! Over the moon with it, it's come out better than expected, had a lot of doubters advising me not to do this The paint match is great, not exact, as A - it's plastic to metal B - Bodywork paint is 13 years old By all means there are a few imperfections in it, i.e. a couple of bits of dust got caught in there - but this is the price you pay when working at home. Just got to wait a few days to buffer it up All in all, cost me £90 for materials, and a Dominoes Family feast for my friends family Hopefully one more mod will arrive before Japfest. But my car is now finally at the stage I always wanted it. Most mods achieved, and now to mainly just spend money on fixing things up - I.e. first on my list is to get my arches sorted. Thanks for reading gang.
