Black Friday!

Recommended Posts

So this time of year is coming again, where everyone starts World War 3 outside Wallmart, do they not?

Anyway, will our American Friends be doing any amazing deals on Zed parts over there?

If not, it's worth looking at the Apple Store, Amazon etc, they do some crazy sales and bargains.

Begins Friday Morning 00:01 (So From Thursday 2359 - Friday 2359) If that Makes Sense <<< :surrender: :surrender:

**EDIT** If your shopping on a US site, the time difference will be between 5 (EST) and 8 (PST) hours.

So 00:00 on friday morning will be 5am for you folks.

I thought it started midnight their Thursday night Eastern?

I'm not sure any deals make it to our online shops to be honest... It's not like its a UK holiday.

On another note my diary is looking quietthursday onwards :)

Edited. Umm last year there were lots of things on amazon, best buy etc, all eligible for us to purchase. The sales are crazy though, things like 70-80-90% off. Imagine the toys for the Zed ;)

I do seem to remember there were offers on amazon UK but very limited numbers of each so if you weren't perusing at the right time it was almost impossible to get a good deal on an item that was probably no use to me anyway.

I know what you mean though worth keeping tabs on.

I think you still have the times wrong though... Friday night implies it starts later on Friday where as it starts Friday morning at 00.00 ;)

I know I'm being a pedant with that last point. I just attend lots of meetings with folks from lots of different time zones so you need to be very accurate with stating times :)

Most of the deals will be on Electrical goods . . or that seems to be what is advertised over here. The queues to get across the border on Thursday and Friday will be horrific.

Also if your shopping on line . . prepare for sites to crash . . I think best buy and future shop both did last year.

Its like day 1 of the January sales . . . but worse :surrender:

In the Eastern time zone :p:lol:

I'm just going to give up, someone else start this thread

But also you were right, last year they did things like TV on offer, lasts 2hours. So you have to just keep an eye out throughout the day as to whats on etc.

The UK amazon site runs a black Friday event all week. Its already up new deals every 15 minutes from 9am to 9pm and you can see whats coming up for the next 24 hours, just not the prices.

Got plenty of stuff from there over the years. Most things come back around, I guess as people order then pull out, so if you miss something its worse checking back again each day. You can see the prices for things that have already sold out.

From what I've been reading, their going crazy over 5/10% discount on toasters  - Best Buy is worth a look, however they don't ship internationally.

Other than Apple a lot of other retailers in the US so have some killer deals in store. I was out in NYC last year, I think it was LabourDay Weekend, and a lot of stores were having 40-60% off everything in store. it was manic!! Apple never do anything decent, but even with 5-10% at best, people go mad for it.

Watch out for websites on monday, great deals are normally posted as people go shopping over the weekend and then buy online when they get to work on Monday. It's traditionally known as Cyber Monday now.

Like the sound of this.

I used to work for a payment processing company, for Black Friday and Cyber Monday annual leave wasn't allowed.

It came from when people had slow internet connections at home and fast ones at work. You go out over the weekend and find what you want then buy it first thing Monday morning from the office and get cheaper prices online
