Neptune86
Hello, I'm looking to buy and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on buying a used 350z. I had a look at one at the weekend and was very impressed by what I saw and how it drove. I'd probably look to get an 08/09 plate with a maximum of 40k miles on it. The one I looked at had 34k and was immaculate and priced at £12,500. I could also get a three year warranty included too which is very tempting and gives me a lot of comfort should anything go wrong. Is there anything in particular I need to look for when looking at these cars? I'll be going up to another dealer this weekend and want to make sure that I am prepped and have some idea on the right level of pricing. Any information would be very helpful. Thanks. WhackyWill
Welcome to the Forum. There is a whole thread on buying a 350Z, Don't be shy just hit the search function. .
Stutopia
Welcome along and have a look here http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/22880-guide-for-new-memberspotential-buyers/ and possibly here too http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/18-350z-faq/ Searches for "clicky axles", "boot pop", "what petrol do you use?" , will provide some reading too. Good luck with your search, with that budget you should get something quite stunning.
Neptune86
Thank you for the links, I'm planning to go and look at some more this weekend. Are these cars suitable for everyday use in and around urban areas?
Stutopia
I have no problems round town, but it's not city driving I do personally, some brakes can be a bit squeaky at low speed and rear visibility when parking is limited I find. Reverse cam sorted that MPG isn't great round town but I didn't buy her for the fuel savings!
WhackyWill
I use mine in town all the time, no problems at all, they all suffer from squeeky brakes when hot, fuel about 17.5 mpg around town, you wont see many other Zeds..
djb55
Go for a roadster and enjoy the summer with the roof down, plus you get front seats to the 350z V6 "philharmonic orchestra" that being the exhaust note.
Neptune86
I'll be doing some city (London) driving during the week and then on weekends much further distances. How does this look? http://www.independentbmw.co.uk/stockdetail.asp?carID=1080

Neptune86
I've just noticed something in that ad which I have concerns about - bad weather. If I got one of these cars, it would be my main and only car. I have heard that you can't use these in the rain - is this something that I need to factor in? wizurd
I've never heard that before. Never had a problem with my zed in the rain and some members on here run them all the way through winter. Roscoe
Why wouldn't you be able to use it in the rain? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
gangzoom
I've just noticed something in that ad which I have concerns about - bad weather. If I got one of these cars, it would be my main and only car. I have heard that you can't use these in the rain - is this something that I need to factor in? I used my Z day in day out for nearly 4 years, snow/rain/ice (only ever had summer tyres), never had any problems, Z is a great every day car regardless of the weather and one of the reasons I kept mine for ages Edited November 26, 2013 by gangzoom
Richf
Have a look at this one also http://www.pistonhea...n-350-z/1887689 thats a non HR model , I know most people know that but a newbie like me figured all 07 cars were HR's , not sure if thats an issue for the OP but when HR's can be had for £9k not sure the earlier model would be as desirable
richmillions
It becomes less useable (for want of a better phrase) if you have budget tyres but then that would apply to most 300bhp cars let alone rwd cars.
ZEUS
I use mine all year round with no problems at all. I think that ad mentions its a warm weather car and has never seen rain to push the point that the car is pristine. You see it on motorbike ads all the time. Neptune86
As a newbie what do you mean by HR model and OP? Sorry if this isn't immediately obvious.
Pete87
They did three different engine variations the 276 and 300 DE engines and the 313 HR engine, easyist way to tell a 313 HR is the bonnet bulge and twin inlets/ twin air filters. wizurd
I believe OP means original poster. So when people refer to the OP they mean the person that started the thread. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
djb55
I think most will agree, that the HR 313 engine is the one to go for.
