codebloke
Hi there, I am driving 53 plate 350z import from Japan. Lost radio codes somewhere and the garage recently disconnected battery during clutch swap causing audio reset. Now, I do have VIN and I also have radio barcode from the back of the unit (takes a while to pull it out). Tried Nissan dealership, but unhelpful as always for imports (had similar experiences with Mitsubishi GTO before...) they seem to be genuinely unable to help. How do I do that? Contact audio manufacturer (clarion???) ? A dealership in Japan (they seem pretty mean cats, too) ? Call Santa? I can do a lot of stuff around the car myself but here I face the wall. Please give me a hint. Thanks in advance! Mart
Dblock
Does the stereo have a code? My standard bose I'm sure didn't. Is your bose?

Think from his post he has the Clarion CD player head unit. @Mart: maybe you could send this company a message to see if they can help or have any ideas. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-350Z-Clarion-Radio-Repair-Service-/120621144139 Also just found this previous thread and a user in this thread may be able to help you. His name is ;atkin666 if he's still on here anymore. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/62855-help-radio-code-needed/ Hope that helps.

Me personally would replace the headunit unless your super happy with it? Plus if it's a JDM unless you have a band expander its radio2 and thats no fun for anyone

Lexx
Yup, Most Bose kit in Japanese cars is re-branded Clarion kit.
codebloke
It is BOSE/Clarion I mean it shows BOSE badge at the front but barcode and such are all "Made in Jap" and Clarion. Any ideas? Or... how hard is it to fit a 3rd party one... I am driving this car with no radio for over a year... lovely sound as it is black badge, but... I would not mind audio back ;-)
GMballistic
You could try a PM to atkin666 in that thread I linked you to see if he can help (It was his birthday the other day and he is still on here) or you could just replace the head unit with a new double din as has been suggested. I'm not an electrics guy so I'm not going to tell you it's easy to fit but it's not hard either if you get what I mean. You just need your new head unit, some adaptor plugs and a few tools. Some threads that may help you; http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/15611-what-you-need-to-upgrade-your-350z-audio-system/ http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/55445-wiring-in-a-new-hu-this-guide-may-help/
