There's special felt stuff you need but can't recall the name off-hand, not that cheap but comes with a 15 year guarantee or something.

The roof is unlikely to be completely flat, all 'flat' roofs have a slight angle so that rainwater runs off to the guttering

you can also get a company that use sheets of fibreglass to create a seamless water tight finish that lasts a lot longer than the tradional stuff. seen it down a few years back and looked cool :thumbs:
