Tarmac@TarmacSportz
Hi Guys n gals Missus Tarmac keeps dropping hints for Xmas about wanting a printer for photographs. Just wondered if anyone can recommend a reasonably priced one, I know you get what you pay for but its just going to be for family pics etc so don't need to go overboard. Thanks in advance Chris
ATTAK Z
IIRC Epson printers are the best for photos
AK350Z
Fran has an Epsom all in one with separate ink tanks. None of them are expensive these days, the important things are; separate colour cartridges, and use proper paper for photos. From our experiments, there's been very little successful corner cutting when it comes to ink and paper.
Fodder
I've always used Epson but not sure if they are still up to snuff. That said for what you want I'd consider the cost of replacement cartridges. I'd also look at a 5 colour system. Yes you have to buy more cartridges but it has less "mixing" to do. DoogyRev
We used to have a Kodak printer in the UK which was good and cartridges were cheapish. Now have a Canon which is on par. As AK says . . good paper and separate colour cartridges are a must. In my experience getting cartridges refilled is a waste of time as the heads start to bleed after a time and you will forever have printing problems. djb55
Have a look at www.ijtdirect.co.uk free printer as long as you buy some cartridges. I have had a couple of printers from over the years. Steel Lynx
Not sure if this will help at all but won't hurt to have a quick read. http://www.which.co.uk/technology/computing/guides/how-to-buy-the-best-printer/buying-the-best-photo-printer/
