I'm surprised insurance on the Zed is that cheap,

as its class in the top 20 most dangerous cars...!! :scare: :scare:

'Nissan's iconic Z-car has a terrible record of people dying while behind the wheel.'

Well that's good to know!

yep that's cheered me up before I go driving in the Zed today!

  • 4 weeks later...

It's all system driven figures I work in insurance and sometimes it makes no sence, think post code is a big factor obviously car age and ncb aswell. But I pay a silly amount for my insurance I'm 26 6 years ncb no points and one accident and it's £ 1500. Unfortunately it is what it is and like sky said it's everyone's different risc assessment.

Personally I cant believe that, I am paying more than some of the younger drivers prices on here with more no claims, low risk postcode, no points etc etc

Rang my insurers up yesterday to get my insurance on the 350z, after an hour of listening to the lovely music they play they told me they couldn't insure me! :bangin: Was a bit suprised and angry as I'm 25 with 6 years ncb. Anyhoo I went onto compare the market and got insured for £450 fully comp! Cheaper than what I last payed on my previous Clio 182!!

Just did a price comparison as I haven't bought my zed yet.

£272 fully comp. 44 with 20 years no claims protected, fully comp.

Wheel spacers and lowered = £680 fully comp.

Can't believe how much extra it is

Insurance company's do make it up as they go along.... This time last year insurance for an import was only £50 more than a uk ..... This year nearly £200.... Oh and Adrain flux insurance said "because I haven't had the car for more than a year I'm high risk" never mind I'm 34, have 12years ncb and 0 points and the fact that if I was going to bin it I would of done so in the first few weeks! But they would give me discount if the wife was a names driver ??? Because most women and 200plus bhp rear wheel drive cars go well together 😳😳😳 (no offence to the women who can actually drive tho)....

Admiral were cheapest for me. 23 years old, 0 NCB, living in central london, im paying £1000/year.

I find insurance companies care a lot about engine size, Adrian Flux laughed at me and said i had no chance of getting insurance on a 3.5l car because i had 0 NCB. The quote ended up being £3000. I asked him for suggestions, and he said a 1.0l Vauxhall Corsa. Not really sure what they 'specialise' in.

I am 32 years old, 5 NCB, fully comp and pay 550 I am with esure .

When I had bmw 320 about 5 years ago I was paying 1200 with 0 NCB that time, after a year being with them I thought that price will drop as I earned 1 NCB but what happened price gone up from 1200 to 1500. I phoned them and asked why, they said coz a car got older...they just make excuses, after another year still being with them price gone up to 2500 lol didn't even bother to call and ask why and I changed insurer. I can't understand why one company offer you 500 quid and another 5000 why such a big difference in prices or one day they give you 500 and you check them a few days later and suddenly price is 1000. Why is that if nothing has changed.

Because they are money grabbing so and so's. I have never made a claim in over 20 years of driving, yet some younger members on here have had quotes cheaper than mine.
