wizurd
Hi. I've never had this stuff before so not sure if this is normal or not. The bottle says cherry smell but when I opened the bottle is hissed like it was under pressure then the smell nearly made me wretch. Stinks of eggs. Certainly not cherry. Can anyone that's used it before let me know if this is normal. Doesn't sound it and I don't want to put it on the car if it's 'off'. Just not sure what's normal. Cheers
Ian
Its normal I nearly killed a neighbour when I asked him to sniff it
richmillions
If my memory is correct mine was off too if that is the case, but I didn't have the cherry scented version.

mrchic
I have used T.R.I.X before combo of Iron x Tar X, supposed to be lemon scent but does smell of eggs with a little lemon Good stuff, but be careful when using when windy and wear gloves
ilogikal1
As above, it's normal. Most of the fallout removers smelt similarly awful until fairly recently. There's a few on the market now that don't smell as strong (but still not particularly pleasant if you stick your nose in the bottle and get a good whiff), and Iron-X is also now available with a "lemon scent" which is supposed to be a neutral scent rather than eggy (or lemon!) but with the same performance of the original - I say "supposed to be" because I've not tried it myself yet. wizurd
Cheers all. Didn't realise it would be that smelly lol but as long as it works then all good. Def will be using gloves and the like.
Richf
I found trix isn't a patch on iron x . Did find it melted my clay bar though . Lol

wizurd
Just to check. This stuff is totally safe to use on the body work as well as the wheels isn't it? I'm sure it is but wanted to check.
ilogikal1
Yes, it's completely safe for paint, just don't let it dry out.
wizurd
Cool. Cant wait to try it out. Will be putting on gloves and getting a separate sponge to get it off with though
ilogikal1
It should just rinse off, especially with a pressure washer if you've got one but even just with a hose.
wizurd
That's good to know. Been looking around and can see some saying as it's changing colour you can use a sponge to move the ironx to places that you've missed. Also it'll be a wheels off job by the looks just to make sure I'm not hurting the calipers although the paint on them shouldn't be a problem. downhuman
Probably the best bit of newer detailing kit out there so worth the pong. Try waxtec fallout remover v2 or britmax's version as they don't smell as bad
