Beavis
Got a shed load in my house and need to replace some of them with more energy efficient replacements. But I still need a good light from them. Anyone done this and got any recommendations? Seems to be a bit of a minefield from what I have read so far! http://jontank.wordpress.com/2013/01/29/my-journey-to-finding-a-suitable-led-spotlight-that-could-replace-my-50w-halogens/
Neilp
The g mans house got fitted with halers fittings. They're pricey but 3w and awesome output. Ill check a couple of catalogues. Most of the led lamps aren't great. The good ones are expensive.
Paddy78
http://www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=110&storeId=10151&partNumber=100730 These... end of search! I had the same problem with our kitchen. We have 8 GU10's and I'd tried all kinds of replacements, but they were either too dim or gave a harsh white light. The homebase ones are great, they give a warm light and are really bright. Had 8 now for well over a year and had no problems from them. Only downside is they are non dimmable... but might not be an issue if you don't have dimmers.

Sam Mcgoo
I'm interested in this, our new home has halogen downlights everywhere! in fact i just counted.... 102 x 50w ! Would like to replace them all with LED but think I might have to do a room at a time.

spursmaddave
Silly question but do the 3/4 watt ones give out a lot less heat than the 50 watt ones? Sent from the golf club...
