docwra
Actually I dont, fair comment, but Im much more likely to just sit and watch a random game as I think its a lot more entertaining than it used to be.
Ekona
Yeah, me too. I'm a boyhood Leeds fan, but due to the distances involved in travelling I rarely get a chance to see them anymore, so I find myself supporting my local team (Braintree Town) for more these days. It's Conference level football so the quality is pretty dire, and the facilities are awful, but it's just as passionate there as at any Leeds game I've ever been to. I'll happily stick on any Prem or LaLiga game if it's on the telly and watch it, and especially the CL games regardless of who's playing. I may not be as passionate about football as I used to be, but I'm watching more of it and enjoying it more as a result. Except for England. I cannot bring myself to watch England games, as the standard there is just so poor and dull to watch,
coldel
With England, it will be a good thing when the likes of Gerrard, Lampard etc are all finally flushed through the system. Almost feels like we have to take the hit for a few years by selecting a new crop of players and sticking with them when we get beat just like Germany did five years or so ago. Almost feels like the England team put out there is put there not to lose, not put there with a chance of winning.
docwra
Thats been a problem for years though coldel, too many "Grandfather Rights" - I personally think it started with John Barnes after that goal agaionst Brazil. Weve also suffered from eternal underachievers, great for club, shyte for country - most seem to have played for Liverpool as well (McManaman, Fowler et al)

Lol that's literally the same with me. I'll watch any old game now but I don't feel anywhere near as passionate about football. As for England.......pfft......I lie and tell people I'm Welsh when I go abroad in the hope that it will disassociate me from the image of 'England'. Again the players are just people I'd rather have 10 minutes in a locked room with a claw hammer than those I would idolise
