MY2011 updates - how to spot them

Hi there,

After much deliberation on what to get for the next car l gave decided to upgrade the 350z to the 370z.

My budget means I am looking around a 2011 plate. Whilst I knew about the black edition/gt edition what I hadn't appreciated was the standard GT spec also had updates around 2011. What I don't know is how to tell whether I am looking at a pre or post updates model. I think there were suspension improvements and maybe sound proofing.

Can anyone tell me what to look for to be sure I am looking at a car with the updates?

That's what I originally thought until someone mentioned it to me. Doing a bit of searching on the internet I gave come across a few articles that back this up...

See

'For the new model year, Nissan introduces a number of suspension, transmission and equipment improvements for the entire 370Z Coupe range while also adding a new trim level to the range called the GT Edition.

That surprises me. I thought the GT Edition replaced the GT model for years 11/12. Maybe need some more comments from the other guys on the forum.

Interesting, I have just had a lengthy conversation with a helpful chap at nissan uk.

He confirmed that the updates brought in with the GT edition model were also applied across the entire 370z range for all vehicles built from June2011. The updates include, improved shock absorbers, suspension and dampening. It also suggests rear view camera became standard with the connect premium sat nav. The difficulty is confirming whether a vehicle I am looking at was built pre or post the updates. The only way to do this is to get the chassis number and ring nissan uk again. Problem is a car could be built up to 12 months before it is registered. Possibly the rear view camera is the only possible giveaway but not certain about that.

Agree that the differences will be small but would be nice to know when I am looking at cars around the 11/61 plate.
