GMballistic
Maybe it all depends on where you live & what time you drive etc The G Man. I drive mainly at rush hours in Cardiff through mainly suburban areas and find the worst offenders to be middle aged/& older men/women on there way to work/drop off the kids etc. Only my opinion though. The G Man
In my very younger days, it was Capri/Escort v Manta GTE. Now, because of what I drive, EVERYONE wants to have a go, not interested in the slightest. Porsche drivers though, seem to be the most polite HPV drivers. Jags, are fast becoming the new Audi knobs, mainly the newer type.
zippypooz
Hmmmmmm its actually starting to sound like all makes and models are a nightmare!!!!!....apart from Zed drivers of course!!
Bems
I used to have an A3 tdi which i had at the same time as the 350z. I now have a BMW oil burner & still have the zed. Not all of us are boy racers. I do get an awful lot of surprised faces in the BMW though when you let them out of junctions etc in traffic when they're obviously not expecting a BMW driver to do such a strange & out of character thing
Pete87
Once I saw a green car cut up a red car, everyone that drives green cars are bad drivers but everyone that drives red cars are always in the right.
The G Man
Agree with that. But nevertheless, A3 and Saxo young bloods are twunts! Edited October 30, 2013 by The G Man
GMballistic
What they want to race you? No The G Man. I was replying to post n#22 by Ekona if you read my post n#23 with regards to older people being significantly inferior in terms of lane discipline and indicating compared to some younger drivers. Think we got our wire's crossed. As regards to wanting to race the Zed, all sorts do I've found.
The G Man
I like racing elderly school run mums, I find that they are easily beaten, which reminds me I must get up and pester them tomorrow

Jp606
BMW drivers are the worst around here, when you see one you can almost guarantee they will drive on your bumper, have no lane discipline or try and 'race' you, this always seems to be the 1 series drivers for some reason. I did get caught out by what I thought was yet another boring 1 series, couldn't work out how he was able to keep up with me when I had enough of him driving 1cm away from me in traffic up to a roundabout, then realised it was a M135i. Just looks the same as all the other BMWs (boring) 'Hot hatch' drivers are pretty much the same, mainly Golf drivers I've noticed and I've also noticed people in GT86s/BRZ think they own some kind of super car bless them and drive in a very similar fashion to the above. nowhereboy
I get way more attention in the Z from middle aged men than I do boy racers haha! I've had one or two run ins with fellow young n's in jap cars but Im over the whole "street racing" thing now. Not going to lie, I used to enjoy it a few years back, we'd go out in a convoy of jap cars (type r's, evos, scoobs, 350Z's etc) late at night, Used to have a shut down industrial estate we'd meet at just off the A1, it still had working traffic lights..... zxrob
In my very younger days, it was Capri/Escort v Manta GTE. Ooooh, the good old days, had the 1.6, 2.0L and 2.8i capri in my youger days, then got married, had kids and a cavilier I think a lot of these audi/bmw drivers get up close to admire the silky lines of the Z Rob
spursmaddave
Yea, forget boy racers, it's always middle aged men in oil burners that drive like idiots around me. You litteraly can't overtake one without them pulling out the slow lane and getting on your tail. Their ego must take a hit every time someone passes them In a nice car and they feel the need to score some man points by beating said car in a race. Either that or they get excited and want to see you give it some, I'm not sure. I've found those god awful turbo diesel skoda octavia's to be the worst. God knows what they're trying to prove, they would get stomped on if I was stupid enough to entertain the idea. You could always try and overtake this middle aged man in his oil burner Edited October 31, 2013 by spursmaddave

Bems
Oil & Gas has a lot to answer for. I get all kinds of nice cars going up & Down my street every day but because it runs parallel with north deeside road and the fact it has no traffic lights nearly every owner of these nice cars feel the urge to tear it up the street. It's a 30 mph limit but I've seen plenty people doing 100mph plus in a residential area with children about! Money buys you a nice car but it clearly can't buy common sense & decency! New policy in central Scotland by plod.....if you own either a BMW or Audi, drive like a complete idiot, then instead of a fine, they ship them up to Aberdeen. Personally think its a great idea. Proven fact (honest) - Audi and BMW DRLs make the drivers invincible ........like Xmen of the highway (honest). bamdc2
You do have to watch out for any new Audi/BMW, the performance and MPG they are getting from diesel engines these days is insane. Agreed I have experienced a lot of inflated ego Audi/BMW drivers but likely they are all company cars so they drive them like they stole them and are jealous of you driving a nice 2 seater sports car. Im always wary of diesels as so many people map them and get 1million lbft of torque!!
spunkehmunkey
As an audi driver myself (mk1 TT 3.2 V6 looking to get a 350z when my insurance renewal comes around) I can honestly say all audi drivers, BMW drivers and range rover drivers are arseholes. It is not so much the fact they always want a race but that they ALWAYS cut you up. Just today I was cruising along in the fast lane and a 3 series pulls out in front of me without indicating and doing about 50mph so I had to do some very heavy braking. Almost daily on the school run around 3-4pm I get a range rover or a 3 series or an A4 just pull out of a junction without looking then they wonder why you beep at them as they are too interested in shouting at their kids to follow the rules of the road. I don't get many people race me apart from when I am on the motorway when the diesels are more than happy to go well over 100mph and wonder why you aren't doing the same - I do not want the instant ban thanks. At night time if I am driving home I do tend to get a lot of people want to race me at traffic lights especially golfs to the point that on the odd occasion I do use launch control just to make a point! I think the issue is a nice car does not want to drive too fast as when you see the mpg hit single figures you feel like your wallet is on fire but it is okay for the diesels that can get over 60mpg nowadays!
