Tricky-Ricky
I have always wondered at the point of fitting light weight crankshaft pulleys to any car really, sure they can look good (if you can actually see them) but for the sake of such a small BHP gain that you wouldn't notice anyway...... and the risk of premature failure of major engine parts is more than enough to put me off. The Chubby Ninja
I have a larger supercharger pulley fitted, there were too available I went with the one that was the same as the oem, and not the one that was welded. Both work, but the talk was that the welded one would shorten the engine life span. Why fit a larger pulley? Will that not just create less boost? rtbiscuit
On the xkr super charger there are 2 pulleys you can change. You can either put a larger lower pulley on the bottom, or a smaller pulley at the top. You can do both but theen you need to upgrade the charge coolers. Jag runs a proper old school top mounted twin screw charger setup. Unlike the bolt on snail shells like the vortech setups.
The Chubby Ninja
ah I see. yeah I knew they used the twin screw type. does the belt get driven off the same belt as the alternator etc? if so does making the bottom pulley bigger not affect anything else?
