Steel Lynx Posted October 21, 2013 Share Posted October 21, 2013 So I've spent ages and ages looking for any information regarding the 40th anniversary wheels as I want to get them refurbished due to kerb rash on all the wheels (not from me I might add!) I can't find anything about paint codes or what the actual colour is. Does anyone on here know anything about them? Ok.....I have some experience of this issue. You will not find a paint code because the colour is apparently created by having a black base dusted over with silver. I had a couple of unsatisfactory refurbs, as it's not an easy effect to get exactly right. I ended up going for a more conventional colour (which I now have a code for) and having them all re-done, as I got sick of the hassle and chin scratching! I've not regretted it. Pic attached which shows the current colour. I can totally understand you might not want to go down that route (you might be better at parking than me) Just be prepared to go the extra mile to find a decent refurb outfit who do a good job. I personally like having the peace of mind of being able to get a perfect match if I do get another scrape. I basically just looked at some colour cards and chose one I thought would look good with the car colour. Bit of a gamble but I was pleased with the end result. It's definitely doable. You just need to find somewhere skilled enough to do it. I think I was just unlucky. Oh and hope you don't get a chip on the callipers - there's no code for that colour either. I repaired a chip recently by mixing two red touch up paints from Halfords to get the right shade just content yourself with the knowledge that in the Black Edition you have easily the coolest variant of the 370Z to date Edited October 22, 2013 by sipar69 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

splash Posted July 17, 2014 Share Posted July 17, 2014 Hi all Anyone had any success with matching the colour of these wheels or have you just had all the wheels painted the same colour? Having the same problem at the moment trying to get one wheel done, didn't realise it would be so difficult! My local Nissan dealer does full alloy dip, repair and respray but are having difficulty getting the colour, they are currently in touch with Nissan but from what I have read on here that wont help.
