pmorg4
Hi guys I've read lots of threads around the web including here stating that the HR Y-pipe can be bolted straight onto the DE models of 350z, with the possible exception of the RevUp version. However, a member on here is selling an HR pipe but states that it wouldn't fit his DE model. What is the definitive answer here? I'm thinking of buying the HR pipe to fit to my 2005 DE model - is there any reason it wouldn't fit? I know some owners said they had to remove some plastic aerodynamic aids, and I've no problem doing that if required. On a related note, are the flexis on the HR any better than those fitted to the DE, or are they similarly doomed to fail in no time? Thanks! pmorg4
No-one tried this on a UK car? Seems like around half the HR 350zs shipped to the US have been fitted with an HR Y-pipe!

pmorg4
Thanks mate. Can you remember if your car had these plastic things at each side of the Y pipe? My only concern is that these might be in the way of the wider HR pipe, although I suspect they can be removed if required.

SkylineV35
Is your car a revup? Did it fit in the end?
370Ad
Can I ask why?! Wouldn't an aftermarket DE one be a better choice?
jumping350
The HR one has a better design similar to an aftermarket one i think but prob cheaper to buy 2nd hand, i got mine for nought lol
SkylineV35
Yes the redesign of the y pipe flows better, as the de pipe is restrictive... something about the longer track more torque or diameters something like that... whereas aftermarket types tend to lose bottom end..im crap at describing stuff like this check here for info.. http://g35driver.com/forums/intake-exhaust/245202-350z-hr-y-pipe-installed-2003-g35.html
